John - thanks for your help booking our Supper Club reservation.

Being Canadians, we do love the French. A young French-Canadian purchased a brand new Aston Martin. As he was driving it down the road in Quebec, he spotted two hitchhikers. As he was so proud of his new Aston Martin and wanted to show off, he stopped to pick up the two fellows. As he stopped, the HH pulled him out of his Aston Martin and set him at the side of the road. They drew a circle in the dust and told him not to step out of the circle 'or else'. The two HH proceeded to smash up his beautiful new Aston Martin. They took a sledge hammer and broke the windshield, they smashed the headlights (headlamps?), they totally demolished his beautiful car. They looked over at the young Frenchman, and he was laughing so hard he could hardly catch his breath. The hitchhikers were amazed and asked him what was so funny - they had just ruined his new Aston Martin. The Frenchman replied, "While you were ruining my car - 'tree' times I jumped out de circle!"

Hi, I have been reading your blogs and looking at the pictures, I'm actually going to the Carnival Freedom cruise this Aug 5. Very excited to meet you and your wife. Anyway, I was reading the blog about the singles and I had a idea. Why not do a game with... hard for me to explain. You will have a shield and a girl will have 3 choices of men to choose. You give her funny questions to give to the guys and after that she will pick her choice or let the audience choose. I don't really know the name of the game, but it wouldn't be such a bad idea to do that. I hope it helps.
ps... i wouldnt mind being one of the contestants

KEVIN,

Do you have a part time job parking cruise ships in NY? They don't steer like a ASTON MARTIN.

Good morning John,

I haven't really caught up for the last 2 days, but I wanted to let you know something that I just heard about. Here is the news article that was posted about 8:30 NY time:

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - A docking Carnival cruise ship struck a pier on Manhattan's West Side this morning, WCBS 880 reports.

The Carnival Victory, a large 13-deck ship, "slightly tapped" the passenger ship terminal walkway, said a reporter in the radio station's traffic helicopter. Another reporter on the scene said the collision caused an 8-foot long, 3-foot deep crease in the front of the ship, and a corresponding crease on the walkway.

The fender-bender happened before 8 a.m. No injuries were reported, but traffic has backed up on the southbound West Side Highway up to 125th Street as a result of the accident. Two lanes are also closed on Twelfth Avenue.

The New York City cruise ship port is at 55th Street and Twelfth Avenue.

The Carnival Victory, which is nearly 900 feet long, can carry 2,758 passengers and 1,100 crew members, according to Carnival's Web site. From July through September, it sails from New York City to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

That's all I know so far. If I hear anything else, I will pass it along.

I just wanted to let you know that my sister just returned from her cruise on the Pride and had a wonderful time. She e-mailed their photos and it just made me so jealous even though I'm cruising in a few months too. But she said that Tina was a great CD. This was her last trip on the Pride and after a vacation was going on another ship. My sister wasn't sure which one, but said it started with an "E". Probably the Elation if Tina is staying in California.

I'll read the rest of your blog thingy later. Take care,
Carol

John,

Given your comment I'll be sure and remind you the week before we sail! Don't know how much I'll be following the bloggy thing next week as I have quite a full week of business planned. But if I get a chance I will check in. As I mentioned in one of my early replies, I hadn't ever been to a bloggy thing before yours. I'm glad I stumbled upon it, and I do hope to meet you and Heidi in person some day.

I still am in awe of how much you put into this blog after all that you put into your CD duties. Those jellybeans must give you some kind of super power energy!

Almost forgot... once again the photos are great.
