My friends and I just arrived home from the Freedom's Rome tour. It was wonderful. The worst part of the trip was the airport in Rome and JFK, but the cruise and excursions were WONDERFUL! I'd do it again. Thanks to a great cruise director. John can make anything funny.

If you "are all getting “lei-ed” for our “meet & greet.)” the CD better have that 4 hour side effect we hear about in those TV commercials.

Dear John:

I am still laughing so hard still about Fat-
ima that I just might have to pack some Depends on my 9/2 cruise on the Legend and the 2009 Splendor cruise.

I have a question about the Legend. I've been told that they have a "bathrobe" party on board. Is this true???

Also, another question - Do you know the effects that the Hurricane had on the western Caribbean and the ships? We have a group of 70+ on the Legend and we are all getting "lei-ed" for our "meet & greet.)" Wish you were there . . .

Thank you so much for the interview with Joe Farcus. We just returned from a 5-day Canada cruise on Carnival Victory, and if I had to vote for my favorite ship's lounge it would be Victory's Ionian Lounge. It's a gorgeous lounge and has proved to be our favorite evening venue (even though I don't smoke), with comfortable seating and great jazz entertainment.

On the subject of cruise directors - I just wanted to pass along how impressed I was with Malcolm Burn as CD on Victory. We sailed with him two years ago on Conquest where he was assistant CD, and we were happy to see he has his own ship now. I overheard a number of people commenting on how they enjoyed his humor. I think you may have a rising star here....

John,
Oh, how I wish you were right! In your last response to me , you said "See you in about 70 days or so", but alas, as of this writing it is 155 days!
Loved the interview with Mr. Farcus. What an imagination.
Please tell Heidi we said Hi. When is she going to write again?

hi john . .we are the sultana's of the lost carnival bag with all our carnival photos. you had answered our first mail where you told us that a bag had been found on blue 27 and maybe it could be ours. we found miami and sent them more than one e-mail. however we have had no answer so far. could we contact someone else? also is there a way that the photograpers can trace the photos we had bought by our folio number of cabin number? we are still with the hope of maybe it will turn up. . . but. . . . .it has been almost two weeks now. . .by the way. . thanks . . we are really enjoying your blog. .it is like still being on the ship with you - the difference being we have to go to work. . . xxxx

Hi John & Heidi!
Really, enjoyed the interview with Joe Farcus. We have been on 6 Carnival ships and each one is so unique. What a talented man! Each cruise is a new adventure from ship to shore!

Of course Bears like Alaska and feel right at home there with the nature and the weather. (That's why we cruised the Med in March! ;-)) We actually crusied Alaska the last week in May and had perfect weather except our sea day that we had a mist for part of the day. It was actually warmer in Alaska than it was here at home in Wisconsin the whole time we were there! And believe it or not I wore sandles and capris everday!!! Alaska is beautiful and we bears still vote Alaska!

Thanks so much for posting photos of the Camp Carnival animals. I am looking forward to making one onboard. I am glad you said I could make one even though I am waaaay too old for Camp Carnival. Maybe they need a "kid at heart" age group! P.S. If they get any new animals, please post those as well.

Thanks Deb Rowe for asking John the question I was afraid to ask. John, Could you pick up a scrapbook for Deb Rowe and one for me too. :)) If bribery helps I already have a present for Heidi that I know she will like. I will buy yours this weekend. We are on the August 29 sailing. I understand if it doesn't work out. I might cry but I will understand.

Thanks,
Jo

John....thank you for the laugh as your description and looking at the pictures of the young lady pushing her "assets" up dyring your talk with her on stage....

I was wondering if it was ok to go ahead and book the "Rome on your Own" excursion for Monday October 29-TransAtlantic cruise. A few blogs back you had listed a list on the excursions we could book for this day and I wanted to make sure the list was still accurate.

see you soon.....
