  1. Thanks for sharing more beautiful and colorful sunsets. As an artist, the sunset is one of my favorite subjects to paint. I look forward to seeing this kind of sunset during our cruise w/ Carnival Freedom, coming up on Sept. 22nd.

  2. Yes, we made it home fine….I tried to find a way to stay, but still needing a job stopped me from doing anything wild…I believe I have several of those beautiful sunsets on my camera! All six of us took over 5000 pictures of the whole trip….The travel channel has nothing on us, when it comes to media coverage…Once again I want to thank you and your crew for a molto fantastico job….
    Absolutely Fabulous ,
Saving for the next trip….Hope to see you on the Splendor…

We so look forward to more and enjoy seeing where you and Hedi are and all the pictures everyone sends to the Blog Thingy.

  4. Hello, John and Heidi,

Glad you are feeling better, John. And Heidi, your photos are gorgeous.

I was wondering whether you ever got a chance to look at the crest Scott made for you. If not look at http://www.scottbushnell.com/Heald.html.

Enjoyed the audio of your John Cleese interview.

Only six more days until our glorious Glory cruise!

    Best Wishes,

    Myra

  5. It seems to be woiking again!

Not that you are feeling better, here is a little bathroom humor:

  6. Beautiful sunsets – which one will occur on Halloween?

    See you soon.

  7. While the Poet was gone John fell ill

Apparently the Anchovies didn’t fill the bill

Hanging over the toilet would a magic pill

However hitting his target would take great skill

A sickness like that might possibly kill

But John survived through stamina and will

Which goes to show you he’s not over the hill

However Heidi now must clean up his spill

  8. Good evening Mr. Heald. I’ve enjoyed each of the last four blogs that you put out, so I thought I would deal with them all in one note. What can I say about the sunsets. They are beautiful, very breathtaking and I still think that you and Heidi should make a sunset booklet of all of them. Just looking at them makes me feel at ease, very restful. I enjoyed the statements from Mr. Bircher about the new revamped Carnival Inspiration. It’s great to learn about the many different things that deal with the makings of a cruise liner. I’m looking forward to a continuation of the evolution. About Shimaila Batlawala, I doubt that she could help me much involving the cutting of hair. I have a shaved head but it was good to find out that she did live in Canada at one time. I have a question that you could help me with. When people are left at the pier for one reason or another ( they probably just forgot the time ) are they on their own or is their someone to help them with their difficulty? I would be shocked to suddenly find out the ship has gone and I’m standing their at the dock with not knowing what to do. What a lovely photo of the Carnival Freedom. I can’t wait to board this beautiful ship. Looking forward to it. This space thing about the gentleman from Hamilton, Ontario, I can’t wait to read about it. It sounds weird.
Let Heidi know that I’m going to mail her the mug I promised her tomorrow. Unfortunately I’ve been unable to get it until now. Sorry about the lateness.I hope you both will enjoy its use. Well I think that’s about it for now. I do hope that you are feeling much better. Ciao from Amherstburg, Ontario where we haven’t seen any green men and flying saucers around here.

  9. Beautiful shots of those sunsets.
In 17 days, I hope to see some just like that. One of my group has asked if you can convert US Dollars to Euros on the ship. I told her I honestly don’t know since I have converted mine through my bank, so here is the question…can she convert US to Euro on the ship? If not, what is the best way to convert…once she gets there or before she leaves. Thanks in advance and we will be waiting your response.

P.S. My husband and I will be celebrating our wedding anniversary on the ship….what excitement for us!!

  10. Good Morning John and Heidi!
Hubby and I spent this past weekend at a local Greek festival. We closed it down all three nights. Wonderful Greek food and such fond memories of our visits to Athens, Rhodes, and Katakolon. Hubby said one of the band members told him that he was actually from Katakolon. The band member could not believe we had actually visited his village. I purchased two “Got Ouzo?” tee shirts. It was very appropriate seeing I lost three bottles of it in the Rome airport. (Too much liquid in carry on baggage.)
Friday afternoon I mailed a package to the two of you. I was told it should arrive in eight to ten days. I am hoping it will be there when you disembark. If not, it will be there when you return from the Athens run. I hope you will enjoy the contents of the box. Please let me know when it has arrived safely. I made them promise that it would not be traveling on AlItalia!
John, I am glad you are feeling better. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to fully recuperate. Those stomach bugs tend to take a lot out of you.
(No jelly beans for a while).

  11. Good morning Dear John & Heidi,

I can’t believe I’ve caught up on all the blogs you posted while I was off.

First I’m glad to hear you’re feeling a lot better and that Heidi took such great care of you. She is a gem.

And, Barb and Bonnie, I am so happy to hear your good news. That’s wonderful – feel good.

All the photos from the ship are stunning – I wish all of my shots came out that well.

And, it was great to see the photos of the Inspiration. Now I know a little bit more of what I can look forward to on the Imagination – or should I say Carnival Imagination.

That’s an excellent idea about asking for clergy members to conduct services – this Friday night is Yom Kippur.

I’ll check back later – Titanic, huh???? Beam me up, John.

    Regards,
    Carol

  12. Good morning John and Heidi,

What beautiful pictures of sunsets. I could almost feel the breeze on my face and the smell of the ocean.

Just an update on “my girls” Jack and I went to the final “Finals” game last night and left with our heads down, moaning and groaning. Yes “my girls” lost it!! I told Jack when we got there the Detroit Shock had to take the lead and not fool around. Guess what, yup Phoenix took the lead and kept it all night. So much for a back to back Championship. Oh well, there’s always next year.

The T-shirt size for Heidi is that European sizes? I like my t-shirts roomy and I usually get a Ladies Medium (american size). My regular size for clothing is a 4 petite so take it from there. I don’t like them so roomy that I swim in them but I like them comfortable. Let me know. I still have plenty of time (and basketball games) to get them.

Well, John the Pistons/Heat pre-season game is coming up fast October 8 here in Michigan! Are you ready for some Basketball????? ;D

  13. Hi John/Heidi:
It never gets old looking at these sunset photos.
Thank you so much for including them.
Hope you have a better week than the one you had last week.
    Thinking of you guys.
    David
