I’m typing this from a small Kentucky marina where I am “hiding out” from home…LOL. While it’s not the Freedom, it’s the closest I can get to water these days.

Just finished catching up with your Blog Thingy. Is there any way to sign up in advance for the On The Deck for the Cure Walk? If so please sign Jack and I up. Talked about it yesterday and Jack said “Let’s Do It”! My Mother’s best friend had breast cancer years ago with a it coming back years later. Helen beat it and passed away last year of heart problems. She was 90 something I think. She had a wonderful full life and she gave so much to everyone here in Port Huron. The city has created a new park in the center of the city and the first honorary plaque will be for Helen. If your interested “Google” her name; Helen David, she owns the Brass Rail and there are several articles on the google website about her. She gave so much that walking in her memory will be an honor.

I miss one day of reading and I’m already four entries behind. Haha, you’re posting at a fast rate this week. I guess I’ll combine all comments into one here?

1) Great job with the “On the Deck for the Cure” Walk. Tell us the final figures when they come in.

2) The Inspriation looks like it’s coming along… Is the Inspriation the only Fantasy class ship in drydock right now for this, or are other ones also in service right now?

3) Sunset photos look amazing; I tried to do the same back then onboard but camera quality isn’t the best compared to those. Haha.

I saw the Carnival press release – what a good idea for Halloween. Wish I was there. Oh well, only 76 more days. All paid and just waiting for my documents to arrive – and my blogger t-shirt.

It dictates a serious poem about cancer of the breast

A donation over 400 people did invest

On decks with their shirts they were all dressed

For many a woman it has provided a test

The scars they will wear forever on their chest

Those who are survivors believe they are blessed

So many success stories they can truly attest

But there are to many who were laid to rest

By an illness that we all can detest

For those cruising in the future I would suggest

Be on the walk for a cure and give your best!

A few years ago a good friend of mine had a double mastectomy and chemo. The first say post op I gave her some pearls I had strung that were a soft pink. On the days the loss of her hair or her other physical changes would make her feel less of a woman she would put on her pearls as a reminder that her soul was still the same. She was still the same beautiful vibrant passionate woman whe was the day before finding the lump. Since then I have made bracelets for many women being treated for breast Ca. The are called Becky’s bracelets in honor of this fantatstic woman and her refusal to let a medical problem make her feel less than a woman.
I would love to send you a bracelet for Tara if you have a forwarding address for her. if you would like a few of them for those special women you meet I could send you more than one.

By the way Becky passed on her pearl bracelet a couple of years ago. She has been cancer free since treatment and a friend at her church was facing a similar struggle.
