Bellas!! Gary, one of our favorite people on the Freedom (after you John) He is sooooo nice and cute!! LOL Tell him that the girl’s grandma is still waiting for him to gave them the plastic ship on a stick for dancing salsa. They were the best dancers but got eliminated exactly because they were the best, grandma couldnt understand that so Gary got scolded JA! We got some pictures of the lesson the girls gave to Gary. Thank you Gary for giving us another great memory of the Freedom!
Good Evening John and Heidi,
Those photos are beautiful! Reminds me of sun rises over Lake Huron, other than I’m sure it is alot warmer there than it is here.
How long, approximately, does it take for someone (me) to mail someone else (you) a package? Two of the items can be shipped without worrying about damage. Your address on the Blog indicates mail, can we send packages too? Please let me know.
Hope all is well and I will see you soon (Jan):D

John,
Don’t let the cruise critics get you down. I for one, believe you in your description of the day and wave. If the photo was doctored (which I doubt), I’m certain it was not by you or with your knowledge. I can’t even imagine what they think the motivation would be to …. never mind wasted too many keystrokes on that already.
Love the Sunset photos. We got a few in Alaska which I plan on sending to you soon (still working through the bunch).
John and Heidi……thanks so much for bringing us the joy of sailing off into the sunset, of reminding us of the pure bliss in setting off for another port and the peace of languid night aboard ship.
A hug,
Anne Campbell
some of the nicest i have ever seen! thanks for sharing…

Hi John!
Beautiful pics. Here is my question: we are staying on in Rome when we come back on the 28th Oct. would it be possible to book a tour of Rome and be left at our hotel after the tour, we did not book a room in one of CCl hotel, if so we would book our tour very soon. Which tour is the best? How many major big production shows is there during the cruise? Glad you are better take care and by the way all men are babies when sick. See you soon!

Read your entry about the Halloween night on the ship. Just curious; any idea what night it will be? We are packing for the October 16 cruise and have limited suitcase room. We want to play too. Just trying to do some pre-planning. Still counting down the days.
All of the sunset pictures are so beautiful! Thank you all so very much!
Hi to Heide, and our best to you both.
Marilyn
Beautiful photos…..that bring back wonderful memories of our Carnival Freedom cruise.
Question, John! I remember you mentioning that the Carnival Freedom’s first cruise that sailed in September that there were 2900+ passengers with 29 of those being under 21 — the result of schools starting, no doubt. Larry & I were wondering how many children you would estimate were on the cruise immediately prior to that.
We are talking seriously about booking the Carnival Splendor’s Baltic cruise for 2008 (perhaps not waiting until 2009 after all — woo hoo!), but are trying to take every factor into consideration that is important to us in choosing a sail date….so that includes not just cruise price, but air fares, typical weather/temperatures during the cruise period and the age demographics we might anticipate. Your expertise on this would be very much appreciated!!
Thanks in advance — and we hope to see you next year on the Carnival Spendor!
Terri & Larry
So glad to hear you are feeling better John. Your two fingers must be very tired after all the typing you have done to make up for lost time.
I sat and caught up on all of them tonight. What fun! Such beautiful pictures.
A comment on the comment about your blog thingy being a commercial…I have never cruised on Carnival…but I so enjoy reading what life is like on board a cruise ship not just your company. The behind the scenes information you give is interesting. It has made me look at some of what Carnival has to offer as we plan to take a cruise early next year. It did interest me that you are now asking about ministers to volunteer to do interdenominational services on board. My husband is a minister…if you told me what you would give him as a gift it might help me convince him we really need to book with Carnival.
Just kidding….
Thanks for all you do on this blog thingy!
John I took a good look at that photo of Carnival Triumph and i cant find any tapering but I think i found one Mr. Spock’s aliens take a look http://www.zendurl.com/c/crossing/Triumph.jpg
Such beautiful pictures…I can’t wait to get on board and take some myself!

I forgot to mention, the breast cancer walk article and pictures were wonderful. I am impressed that people on vacation took the time and donated money for this cause. I have tears running down my face. I lost both my grandma’s to breast cancer. Which puts my mom, (who is a lurker here) and me at high risk for getting cancer. What a wonderful thing you and Carnvial are doing.
Everyday you prove that indeed, you are John Almighty. I am going to be so honored to meet you and Hedi!
Susan
Hello again John,
What absolutely stunning photos. Tell Gary he is the best and I want to hire him to take my photos for me.
A couple of blogs ago Linda H. asked a question that I wanted to ask. What address can we use to send you something in December? Obviously Italy won’t work. But mailing to Miami wouldn’t be good either. Any suggestions?
And, Roberto, I hope you enjoyed your weekend with your family. You deserve a really big thank-you and so much credit for what you do for this blog thingy.
Regards,
Carol

John -
I am absolutely convinced that these sunset photos have been photoshopped – I performed an extensive analysis of the pixies and determined that these pictures are, in reality, photos of the sunrise.
Have you no shame?

Seriously – beautiful work, Gary.
42 days and counting.
Hi John,
I am glad you are feeling better! We are going to be scheduling our next cruise this week and I was wondering which ship you reccommend (somewhere warm as I live in Buffalo)! I was not really impressed with the Legend in August- too small for me. I like the BIG ones!
Who knows, maybe I will get stuck in a Hurricane again. Too bad you won’t be the cruise director this time!
Oh no I think something just landed in my classroom………..
Lindsey
Wow…
Beautiful pictures.
Those last 2 pictures are absolutely amazing.
I agree that these are pixilated photoshopped (just kidding)!

John, I am so glad to see the “Walk” was so successful. Love all the pictures of everyone who participated. My prayers will be with Tara as she finishes her treatment. Thank everyone again for participating in the walk and thank you for your continued support of breast-cancer awareness. Here in the states October is “Breast Cancer Awareness” month and it seems so fitting that Carnival will be continuing this wonderful program, “ON THE DECK FOR THE CURE WALK”. I applaud you and everyone who continues to take part in this. Oh BTW, love that song by Louis Armstrong, “It’s A Wonderful World”, it’s one of my favorites and always bring tears to my eyes.
Closer to the end of this month I will be going for my six month check-up and I’m sure all will be OK, it has to be I have too many cruises to go on!
LOL with the person who knew what really happened to the “Titanic”, but on a serious note-kinda sad.
Great interview with the housekeeping department. On all our cruises we have always had the BEST cabin stewards ever! Can’t wait to hear from the rest of the crew members about their life on board a Carnival ship.
Take Care

Hey John and Heidi
Back from the Glory, had a wonderful time, I posted a little blog of my own with a few pitures links of WeeJimmy and us, oh and the supposed maneger of the pursers’ desk “Neil”. Will post more pictures and tell more later missed the blog and I am almost caught up in reading too.
love the sunsets, very nice
Wishing you and Heidi all the Best
Heidi-Beth
Breezy, ol’ pal, ol’ buddy,
that’s you John.
And Miss Open Windows.
Where are my moonscapes?
Rosy fingered Dawn gets up too early for me unless I stay up too late, so I simply adore sunset. That is at the top of the list for my dreamhouse: sunset view. Next is dog walking area. Then hanging out the laundry. Got to put things in priority.
But where, oh where, are the pictures of the Moon gliding over the Wine Dark Sea?
Also, we have almost always been dining when the sun sets. Can you take a video of it and then play it when you shut down the bars so we won’t have missed it? Sunset at midnight and 1 on the big screen!
Thanks!
ps- save the best ones to rerun for the days when there is a gloomy sunset.
