I have so enjoyed reading your blog, especially your account with Fatima. I’m sorry you were ill recently, but your flair with the pen gave me a great laugh. I hope to sail on a cruise with you some day.

I read your interview with Mr. Cleese and had to respond with a link to a site called snopes.com which deals with urban legends and the such. Mr. Cleese seemed to relish the fact that there was a photo of President Bush using binoculars with the lens caps on. Check out the following link and one can see that he is not the only politician to have done so, or possibly had a photograph manipulated to appear so.

I have to say that your interview with the remarkable Mr. Cleese was as much fun to read as it was to listen to. Perhaps, to an extent, even more so.

Written words tend to let my mind play more of a part than audio or video does. It was easy to imagine the interplay between you two and even to conjure up facial expressions. As magical is John Cleese is, that’s not a difficult chore.

The images of the sunsets have been stunning. Please keep them coming along with the crew interviews. It’s obvious that the crew members you’ve chatted with are quite dedicated to their jobs and the passengers.

On this morning’s occassion, Vikki started missing her cat, Mocha, and, for a brief instant, thought about bringing her on board. Well that idea was quickly quashed, when I raised x-ray machines, metal detectors, and the sight of the captain when he sees our little want-to-be mountain lion tightrope walking around the outside of the bridge. You see our cat is a second story woman. I’ve had to assist in getting her down from trees, second story balconies, and most recently, rooftops. Don’t ask me how she does it, but when you glance outside in the evening hours and see your home’s shadow w/the shadow of a cat slowly walking across, suffice it to say, she does it.

Anyways, as Vikki and I started thinking we got to wondering, what are some of the strangest things people/guests have tried to smuggle on board? Any boyfriends w/o tickets, or old ladies bringing pets that they treat like babies? For Vikki and I, what are some of the strange things people try to smuggle aboard? Thanks, Mat (& Vikki).

Chef Paul Prudhomme does have a recipe for Cajun Shepherd’s Pie and Cajun Bubble and Squeak in one of his cookbooks. The Shepherd’s Pie is served over “Very Hot Cajun Sauce for Beef”. I think he tends to complicate recipes, but the pictures do look yummy!

Did I mention I’ll be on the Fantasy again for Christmas? This time with my Mom (spelled correctly), sister, and a couple of trolls posing as nieces.

Between now and then is the Zydeco cruise on Carnival Conquest in November. Finally remembered to apply for my shareholder’s credit for that one.

Thank you so much for giving us the transcript. It is very difficult for me to listen to anything here. But I was in stitches (no liquid accidents anywhere – all is safe). And this American was applauding the Bush-comments. What an absolute thrill that must have been. How can you top this?

Change of subject – I was reading a news article that said, according to the UK Mirror (is that a tabloid), AJ has openly admitted trying all sorts of drugs in the past. Now, I’m not condemning her or anything (yes, I am), but that doesn’t sound like the kind of image Carnival would want for Godmother, does it? My vote is for CZJ.
