But I would prefer the day before Halloween to the day after. It just seems sad after.I'd like LFTTNSFCF to know that we have quite a group of Cruise Critic folks going on the trans-Atlantic and she might want to join in our discussions. We completely understand your concern, but please realize that most people, as do we, post with no thought of reward in the form of your answer. Your return post is a special gift, and we treat it as such. If we got a gift every day, it wouldn't be very special, now would it?I have a product for you. It's called "Bag Balm" and was recommended by my doctor. The instructions say to:Massage thoroughly and allow ointment to remain for full softening effect...thoroughly wash treated teats and udder with separate towels before each milking."It felt good going on, but I'm not certain how putting it there is going to help my feet!Rus Franklin

John,<br

There is just something special about a man in a tux, right ladies! So, do you need me to go to Victoria's Secret and pick up a thong for you? What is your favorite thong color? Do hope you will take lots of pictures to share with those of us who cannot be there to see it in person.By the way, read on a previous blog that you are a big Jethro Tull fan. We are going to see them in Atlanta this December (early Christmas present for Jim). Wish you and Heidi were going with us.I hope the weather is wonderful for this cruise with Heidi's mum and that all the sunsets are just as amazing as the ones you have posted for us.As so many others have said, this blog makes my day. The countdown til cruise time passes so slowly, and your blog and the laughter, excitement, anticipation (and yes, sometimes outrage) that it creates makes the waiting bearable. I am also really looking forward to the blogs and webcam during the fall crossing.Cannot wait to get onboard on April 26 and hear your voice. I was very excited to see that you will be back on the Freedom for the April transatlantic.

Hi John, Heidi, and Heidi’s Mum,

Thanks for answering my question about tux rental. isPermaLink="false">http://johnheald.wordpress.com/2007/09/24/lean-on-me/#comment-6504

When we were so fortunate to have a Real Cruise on the Smoke Free Paradise that happened to have Halloween in it, the Halloween Parade didn't happen until later. Instead of the crowds surging to the back lounge for the midnight adult comic, it was the Halloween Party.
So, in actuality, you could have the Formal Night with the Halloween Party on the same night without conflict.
However, if you do intend to play Halloween on All Souls Day, then we will have two nights to wear our costumes! Also, that will be After the stop in the Little Spanish Town with the Picasso Museum. In addition to standard Halloween Favorites such as ghosts and mummies and witches, you could have a whole boatload of Picasso Prints. Not only will the spirits be unable to recognize who it is, or even who it is supposed to be, the disguises can be quite scary.
The Real Question is: Guy Fawkes day. I can't remember its exact day, but it is close. Will you be introducing us to Guy Fawkes Day? Mr. Choy is certified with pyrotechnics.
To Get You Started on Halloween: Trick or Treat
Smell my feet
Give us something good to eat.
Oh Yeah, It's Carnival. included.

When we were so fortunate to have a Real Cruise on the Smoke Free Paradise that happened to have Halloween in it, the Halloween Parade didn’t happen until later. You have schedule the first formal night for the first fun day at sea, which also happens to be Halloween. The next day, we stop in Malaga from 1PM to 8PM, so it does not seem like this day would be the best to hold party. The day before, we are in Livirno, also until 8PM, so, again, not the best day to hold the costume party. So, I guess the best option is to hold the Halloween costume party on November 2nd, when we will again be at sea. UNLESS, one can convince the Assistant Cruise Director who made up this schedule (clearly, it can't be the Cruise Director's fault) that they need to reschedule the first formal night to the second fun day at sea (as opposed to the first fun day at sea).Just my thoughts.I return you now to your regular programming.

John -

With respect to the scheduling of the Halloween costume party -

but first, a joke

Two guys are sitting in the bar on the 20th floor of the Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco.

The first guy turns to the second guy and says “You are new in town, so you don’t understand the idiosyncrasies of this town.”

The second guy replied “what do you mean?”

The first guy explained “for example, the wind blows so hard in through the Golden Gate and up the side of this building, it will hold a man suspended in mid-air.”

Second guy “Really?”

First guy “Sure, watch this”, whereupon he slammed down his drink, walked over to the window, opened it, stepped out on the fire escape and stepped off, dropping down about two feet an then staying there suspended for about thirty seconds.

After the first guy returned to the bar, the second guy exclaimed “Wow, that is so neat – can I do it?” to which the first guy answered “Sure, I do it all the time.”

The second guy then slammed down his whiskey, walked over to the window, stepped out on the fire escape and looked down. “Its awfully far, are you sure about this?” said the second guy. “Sure, I do it all the time” replied the first guy.

“OK” said the second guy, who then stepped off the fire escape and plunged twenty stories to his death.

The bartender turned to the first guy and exclaimed “You sure do get sadistic when you are drinking, Superman.” <img

Greetings from New York where it was a nice 80 degrees here today, I have much new information for you some good and well some bad and sad. Lets kick it off on the good, The New Car, yes there will be another Aston joining my family of 1 but not any old aston, a 1996 DB7 uk edition, with the steering wheel on the left hand side, solent silver is the exterior color and black leather interior. She is being shipped as we well type. Onto other good news, Thursday the 27th of this month I will be turning 30, shocking I know. Onto the sad news, I won't be able to attend the bloggers cruise, it's sadly become official I can't get the time off of work to take the cruise, I am very sad I won't be able to have a pint with you on this cruise, but I will be there for the next adventure on a bloggers cruise. I'm very sorry John I know you were looking forward to meeting me on this cruise. Pictures of the new car are going to be posted on my blog within 24 hrs so take a look at her if you wish. To see click my name in the top left corner.
Best to Heidi, and her 3000euro skin stuff, and I hope her and mum are having a great time and not putting you in the poorhouse at the same time.
Yours in Aston

Let me begin by thanking all of you for helping me make the anniversary cruise on the LIBERTY the best vacation that Donna and I have ever taken!Highlights............
Donna and I got picked for the "Marriage Game" as the middle couple with some newlyweds and a great couple that had been married for 55 years. They were a great couple and stole the show. Meeting Todd Wittmer and the other social hosts ( Lawrence, William and Mel ( from Canada) was great as well. Brought home 3 solid gold plastic ships on a stick and several Carnival medals.Donna and I walked in the On Deck walk ( I will send Roberto a couple of photos to be passed on to John). It was a moving experience with the Captain and Todd leading the group that included some cancer survivors. We had a full day sail on the New Horizon in St. Thomas and met some really nice people and crew and I got to snorkel with a sea turtle and stingray and all kinds of colourful fish.Tortola and the "BATHS" were great as well and the snorkelling was AWESOME!!!Crashed a tour in Nassau at Atlantis and had a great day on the beach with new friends from Florida. We left the ship with winnings from the Casino this time as we both did well at poker and the slots. This was a bonus as we normally leave money on board...........Yahoo!!!!Special mention to our dining room staff.....Lucilo and Minguel...........safe journey home Lucilo. They made every meal a special experience. Met some nice people from Florida, North Carolina and Brampton Ontario at our dining table and had some great conversations and laughs. To our cabin steward.........INYOMAN.........you rock man! Thanks for everything!Lastly to my loving wife.................thanks for 25 years and lets keep it going for 50 more and celebrate every year in style like last week.Glad to hear that all in distress with health concerns are doing well and can enjoy future cruises. Thanks again John, Heidi and Roberto for making a dream cruise a little bit better with your contributions. It is a vacation that we will always remember and cherish.
Well I'd better get back to reality ...............and work.
Need to start planning the next great trip with Carnival and adventure to new ports. All the best from Canada.B&D Hodgson

Hello John , Heidi and Roberto,<br
