I guess on our last Carnival cruise we should have DEMANDED free wine with dinner so we could enjoy that on the Freedom this fall! Too bad I didn't think of that! LOL.Your mention of Heidi's La Mer inspired me to spend a small fortune on face stuff today. As radiant as she always looks in your pictures, I figured it was worth the price.

I love your unhappy guest reports. They crack me up. I just read your Rhodes blog and it sounded like the itinerary is changing... no more Rhodes as a port ??? Also a friend of mine at work mentioned this AM that there were 3 Turkey ports next year- is this why no more Rhodes. I just finished the Greek Isles/Mediterranean cruise and Rhodes was wonderful- it actually was the best port, even tho Katakolon was beautiful, with Olympia being a great stop. Where elso will you be going to in Turkey?? if this is a change? Well- the itinerary this year was great and I guess if it is changing there are reasons and we all will still enjoy Europe.Hope you got my note I left about the ornament- if it's possible to do- Thanks in advance and I'll be blogging again soon

Dear John<br

Congrats on your big win. Well deserved.
What is with all the letters of people complaining that there are no rabbis or priests? Amazing!
I guess you can't make everyone laugh in every show. Its ok. Some people just don't have a sense of humor.
Great to hear from you and another great blog.
Thanks again,
David

Hey Buddies!<br

Which makes me say I was saddened that Mr. & Mrs. Myrtle Beach misrepresented us "older" folk - why do people like that bother to cruise? I met you on a Carnival Liberty cruise last year and you were the best Cruise Director ever, hands down and my grandchildren and I howled at your antics and especially the Bedtime Story, which I watch every so often - I bought the DVD.Anyway, looking forward to the Blogger's Cruise in January and some more fun and laughs. Stay as you are and don't let the few get you down - as if that's possible. :-)

John:

First I want to congratulate you on being the seagoing employee of the year – of course, you’re the best. Have to say we loved the cruise and enjoyed all the ports as well as the ship. We met so many wonderful new friends that we met through the Cruise Critic Roll Call. Do have to say that Carnival kinda screwed up our CC meet & greet though. First they didn't even know we were suppose to have the Int'l Lounge and then they had to switch us to the 70's Disco and then the dancers came and wanted to practice in there! Big mix up when you think that Carnival would want the CC people to be happy:) Anyway, not a big deal to us but it was kinda funny! We know that most people enjoy all the big productions in the Victoriana but we have to say that we also enjoyed the music in each of the lounges. I think it's Diane & her hubby (can't remember his name) in the Swingtime. We walked into the lounge and we remembered them from the Fascination in March 2001! And they actually remembered our group as well (maybe that wasn't a good thing?) Anyway, we really enjoy them and also loved Ron in the Piano bar. Please put in a good word for these talented people and don't let the Karoke crap take the place of these fine musicians! We went in to Karoke one night and our ears just couldn't take it - they want you to clap for these people which only makes them think they're great and then they get up there again! There are some talented singers but they weren't there the night we were:)
Anyway, thanks for the great memories - we loved our trip!

Congratulations on winning of most prestigious award a cruise director can receive. My husband Gladstone (James Brown on the Liberty) and I sailed with you on the inaugural sails on the Legend, Harwich to NY and the Liberty, Rome. What exciting trips they were. We were told that you would have retired at the end of the Rome sailing so we decided to try the another cruise line (Princess). It cannot be compared with Carnival. Please consider ports in South America, Asia and Australia, I know it would be a hit. Thanks for letting us have the time of our life. Stay healthy and blessed.

Amazing.Just a question, since it seems like this is the end of the Greece/Turkey/Mediterranean itinerary, where's the Freedom headed now? I'm behind in some posts, so this was probably answered already... but yeah, just curious.

John,

French Embassy Joke. The Triumph was the first ship I ever sailed on, I had tons of fun and it is beautiful! This time we are traveling with 14 people, we started with 4. My only regret is that you will not be our director! Congratulations on winning your award, you truly are amazing at what you do! I love it when you give the commentary on your conversations with nasty, idiotic people, it's so funny! The things that they come up with to complain about- CRAZY! Have you been stuck in a Hurricane since the Glory in 2005? We almost were stuck in another one this past summer while on the Legend. In fact, a waiter we were speaking with was also stuck on the Glory with us. He was not as happy about it as we were, but it was interesting to hear how hard everyone had to work those extra days!
I will never stop reading this blog!!!! I love it!
