We were wondering if you are going to be on the Freedom for her U.S. Inaugural (spelled correctly??) sailing out of Miami in November? Our friends from Salem have been invited to sail. Now that the Red Sox are in the playoffs, and you are a citizen of Red Sox Nation, there will be Championship hats that will need to be delivered. If you are going to be on that cruise, we can make sure that Marie gets yours to you. If they win the World Series, you may have to rearrange some of Heidi’s things to make room for them.

By the way, if you run into that Yankees fan again, the Red Sox don’t have a “best” pitcher. The whole pitching staff is the best in baseball.

I will be more than happy to keep you informed of their progress.

Yet another great interview. I enjoy reading about all facets of cruising life.
I will be joining you on the Freedom in just 6 days. This will be my 5th Carnival cruise this year. I went on 6 last year and have 3 booked for next year…would you call me a Carnival cruise junkie??
I will be looking forward to meeting you and Heidi on this cruise, hopefully we can have coffee…(my treat) Take care and until then keep up the blog thingy. Don’t worry about what the narrow minded have to say about the negatives….your blogging fans love it!!

I don’t believe it – after not posting for 3 days, my comment of this morning is lost in cyberspace – no “awaiting moderation”, nothing. And it was fairly long. Gone for 3 days and forgotten! Sorry Roberto, just kidding.

Anyway, what I said was Congratulations John & Heidi for the award. It was my honour (spelled correctly) to have voted for you. You really are the best and make our days and cruises so memorable. Bravo from someone who was there 20 years ago (probably at the bars until closing).

My 3 days away had to do with taking a refresher course in NYC on professional behavior & applications. Then I had to conduct a course for highly-paid, over-educated engineers, budget analysts, and office executives who do not know how to spell, proofread, use correct grammar and punctuation, etc. I want to know how they even managed to get their degrees? It was pathetic. So don’t worry if anyone says you can’t spell – believe me, you are not alone.

Back to cruising – ahhhh. Gary, those Sunset #6 pictures were absolutely incredible, especially the one of the whirlpool. I’m going to have to remember that one on the December cruise. Congratulations on a great job.

John, you asked about the sugar-free cheesecake. No this wasn’t a homemade cake, but I would imagine substituting Splenda for the sugar would work well. This cake was from a local bakery, but I’ve seen versions in several restaurant chains (Junior’s, Cheesecake Factory). I’m not sure, but doesn’t Carnival do a sugar-free cheesecake too? I thought I remembered one on the Valor?

You are making me really sorry I’m not going to be on the Blogger’s cruise. To see you and Big Ed in a thong would be priceless.

Speaking of Blogger’s cruises – my vote is for the Caribbean, not Alaska. Unless we do a 2-week Princess round trip cruise to Hawaii from California.

I know I’ve probably forgotten things that I wrote, but I’ll check your blog thingy later.
