Last week we celebrated the anniversary of the blog and wished the Carnival Freedom a happy birthday, but what many of you don’t know is that Carnival celebrated something else- our 36th birthday. Yes, Carnival’s first ship sailed back in March of 1972.
Since then we’ve achieved many milestones, but none of them would’ve been possible without our guests. That’s why we launched a special “Funtennial” celebration during the month of March. There are a variety of special offers and giveaways, including the chance to win a free cruise every week of the month. For all the details visit www.carnival.com/funtennial.
For all of our blogger friends we have a special digital camera giveaway for guests that book the 2009 blogger’s cruise before the end of the month. Ten lucky 2009 blogger’s cruise attendees will be able to bring their new camera’s aboard the Carnival Fantasy to take photo’s of all of us having fun together.

We just got off the Freedom on March 8th. John is the greatest. He came down with Bell’s Palsy the Sunday after we left but that did not stop him. Kudos to John. You are the best.

Happy Birthday to Carnival. I am one of those that got to sail multiple times on the first ship out….Mardi Gras. That was some of my best memories. I have since cruised on all of Carnival’s Fun ships except 6. I surely have seen a lot of changes.
I agree with the others. Where is PA007? I was booked on the blogger’s cruise before it was announced. (Just by chance)

Ya’ know, when I was on the Conquest last fall Butch Begovich related the story of how Carnival got named ‘The Fun Ships’ at the Past Guest’s Party. I’ll tell ya’, the place sounded like the Super Bowl!!!
Carnival has done a fantastic job of introducing cruising to millions of people and becoming the Guardian Angel of many other lines such as Cunard Line. No other company in the world would have the vision or financial ability to carry this off.
My congratulations and thanks to Carnival!!!

Just to clarify some of the questions- everyone who’s booked on the 2009 Bloggers cruise by March 31st will be automatically registered for a chance to win 1 of 10 cameras. So everyone that’s already booked is eligible.
The Funtennial offers and cruise give-a-ways are only for bookings made in March.
