  3. John, two post in one day that Carnival has the bloggers to thank for. All us bloggers helped make this the blog it is and it was the bloggers that told you what scrapbooking was and My Evil Krewe that showed you a real personal scrapbook.

  8. On the cruise I went on last week (Carnival Paradise, four day cruise, Catalina Is. and Ensenada) they had an activity in the atrium with the new scrapbooking!

    Love the little jellybeans sign.

  9. This is cool!
Have a great time on the Emerald Princess!

  10. I just love that picture of you with your spotted dick. It just makes me smile! I’m honored that you chose that for your scrapbook page! :-D )

I came close to buying a can along with the custard powder yesterday at Publix. Settled for some McVities cookies instead. Was originally shopping for bean soup fixings. Oh well… They’re the digestives, so there’s some redemptive value… right?

  11. GregB… it’s a love thang…spotted dick is a pure love thang!

    :-D )

  12. I’m excited! I’m planning on scrapbooking when I retire after the Splendor cruise!! This will be a great way to add to my time. Thank you!

  16. Hi John and Heidi

I hope you have a great time on the Emerald Princess. May you get some well deserved rest, you will need it. I hope the sitcom thing works out for you. You both truly deserve the best. Take care and give one another big hugs from me.

  17. Hi John,

Haven’t blogged on in quite a while, but I ‘ve been reading the blog since the begining and haven’t always seen some of my comments, but I keep trying!!!! Congrats on the possibility of a TV show. I agree with one of the other bloggers ( John D, I think) that a kind of reality show about life on board a (very popular)cruise ship with your stories wound in there would be “Abssolutely Fabulous.” (lol, Loved that show -it was hilarious!) You and Heidi would definitely have to be in the show or closely associated with it as writers or something like that. Hope you guys are having a great time onboard the Emerald Princess, don’t leave us now, for Princess. Anyway we can’t wait come on another Carnival cruise and meet youand Heidi, possibly on Splendor-Wow, that would be great dude…exccuse me…John!!!! ‘Bye from still chilly catskill mtns, NY

  18. John,

We see that this is your personal website, but we glanced thru it and there were comments/concerns about the Carnival Freedom (e.g. no Easter service and people upset).

We have a concern about the Carnival Freedom and don’t know who exactly to go to, so we thought we’d try you. Is there a “Carnival Email” we can send it to or how do we get a concern about the cruise to you?

    Thanks,
    R and J

  19. SCRAPBOOKING…. I love these new CARNIVAL pages… Those BLOGGER pages are just the Cat’s Meow!!! :-) Where did they get such a handsome model???

  20. Good morning John, the TV star,

I take one day off and look what I missed. A TV show would be absolutely, positively, fantastic, but no one could play you – but you. And I could say I knew you when you just started.

I was looking at the Capers from the Ecstasy in 1992 and it definitely has changed since then – neither your name, nor the captain’s is on the cover, along with the other complete listings of activities. And the paper is different – it’s much heavier now.

OK, Mr. TV Star – you’ll be able to buy your own Aston, but better yet a Bentley & a chauffeur.

    Catch ya later,
Carol (I’ll be your rep. in NY along with Robin)

P.S. Heidi, I just saw a photo of Renee Zelweger promoting her new movie and her haircut is similar to yours.

  21. John, pretty cool that the ‘09 “Evil Crew” gave you your first scrapbook and inspired this corporate idea! Makes me proud! Y’all rock!!!

  22. What happened to the Freedom Scrapbook? We were on such an early cruise (May ‘07) there was “no such animal”, but several months later you mentioned a “Freedom” scrapbook (Europe) available onboard and possibly on-line. Never heard any more about it. Is there such a thing?

    Kathy and Paul

  23. Hi John, It’s me again.

I just read that the 3 Queens will be in Southhampton on April 22nd. Will you be able to see them. It was a last minute schedule change for them. What a break for you if you’re there.

    Later,
    Carol

  24. Greetings John…

    Until next chat……
Best regards to you & Mrs. H
    Cheers….. Richard Bursey

  25. Oh john, this is great! I cannot wait for more news about it! I want it!

  26. Hi John/Heidi:
    Nice pictures.
    You’re famous.
Hope you’re having a blast on the Emerald.
    David

  27. if you tell me I can get those to fit my traditional 12×12 scrapbooks (or at least small enough to fit on the pages) you will be my hero for LIFE

  28. John,
    I’M IN HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I skip ONE day of reading your blog and look what I missed!!!
It’s the “I don’t understand you just cut and paste pictures” have gone a long way since I scolded you for calling scrapbooking that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m sooooooooo glad Carnival is getting into this!!!! I went to the scrapbooking class on the bloggers cruise and the room was full!! I was so proud because there was ONE guy there that really had a talent for it….and as I being so wise to mention, the supplies were selling like hotcakes!!! In fact, they had to keep refilling the shelfs with supplies…I shall not admit in case Mr. Cheap reads this how much I spent on scrapbooking supplies!!! You should see my album I made from the bloggers cruise!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, so I told Mr. Cheap about this, and he said that I should ask for the next bloggers cruise for free since it was my idea…I would just be happy to be upgraded to a hadicap cabin…we could not afford one on this trip so we are on the bottom floor in a regular inside cabin…not sure what I am going to do because right now I am not able to walk at all after my accident and I am in a wheelchair…
but I just want to give a CHEER out for Carnvial for listening to their guests and giving us what we want….SCRAPBOOKING SUPPLIES FROM CARNIVAL!!!!!!!!
    Thank you!!!
    Love to you and Hedi,
    Princess Susan….having a proud moment!!

  29. Dear John and Heidi:

I hope you both are treated as royally as guests of Princess as we have always been. Hope you have a restful vacation. Wish we were there, too!!!

  30. WHA-A-A HOO!!! I am so excited. I had a dream of one day of reading your book, but this far surpasses my expectations. What possibilities: so many opportunities for spin-offs right down to even a reality show.

If it wasn’t for the TV show “The Love Boat,” I may have never been bitten by the cruise bug. Of course, I can’t think of anyone that could do justice to the part of CD, but for yerself, John. But who would play “Fat-eem-a?” Would you get to pick your own leading lady? If you don’t choose wisely, Heidi might choose the ‘hose lady.’ If you can use an extra, I’m experienced at being a passenger . . . I wouldn’t expect to be paid, either. Just an occasional chocolate thingy!! Honestly, John, this is just too exciting!!!
