I had no idea that i was in the company of a famous Britis television star. I am so honoured :)
Great blog today. Sounds like you were on the puddle-jumper from hell. How scary!
Seems like Bubba is having a great time and his whale/sea lion pictures are amazing. Thanks for including these.
Quite an honor that the Queen is coming to say goodbye to the QE2. I'm sure that will be a well-photgraphed moment.
I'm guessing in the cruise video during the summer that you'll have to mention it was below freezing when you were in Estonia. I'm thinking it might thaw out by June :)
Congrats on the new Carnival wing at the hospital. What a wonderful thing to do.
Thanks again and talk to you soon!

The pilot came on the speaker and said, " The weather report is that it's a blizzard where we are to land with high winds and blinding snow but -- let's try it." We did make it, but my knuckles might still be white. For your regurgitating convenience, please note the paper sack in the seat pocket in front of you. Those ceiling fans sufficed for a number of years prior to the jet age….and the turbo props of today are much more powerful and reliable than days of old….. but still people are squeamish ….borderline petrified of flying in planes powered by this type of engine…..Mark

And, John, I don't think I need to comment about that "servant" remark, do I? The passport was just an excuse for Heidi to take a break.Seriously, bravo to the Arisons and Carnival for the wonderful thing they are doing for the children's hospital. I feel very proud to be a small part of this family.I really don't know much about Estonia, except that it was once part of the Soviet Union. Very interesting commentary. Hope the rest of the trip goes well, and your next flight will be much better. St. Petersburg interests me a great deal for its history (Besides, my mother's family was Russian - my grandfather deserted the Russian Army and came to America, he was on the Luisitania when WWI broke out). So I can't wait for the next installment. And Bubba's too.Regards,

Love all the comment from my fellow bloggers! Your parents must be proud to have two such successful children. It seems odd that Russia wouldn't give Heidi a visa, her passport is still valad after all. It's a shame it's so cold and miserable over there while you're working so hard. Hang in there, I'm really enjoying the tours though yours and Bubba's daily blogs.Julie

Hi John,<br

I dont think that Heidi is going to Holland because of her visa...I think you are in the DOGHOUSE with the women like servants thing. Have you ever heard the expression "you get more flies with honey"?
Your sister is absolutely beautiful.
I thought after your last blog that maybe this whole nightmare with airlines was worked out. I hope your next flight is better.

Wow...we had the SAME kind of plane - American Craplines to and from our cruise. When I saw it on the way down I told Jeff I was Not getting on it...but since it was either fly on the toy plane or miss the cruise, I chose the toy plane. Now, I fly a lot..but Never on a plane like this. I really loved how we couldn't put our carry-ons in the overhead bin above our seats because they had life boats in them! And even more than that, I loved how there were no emergency oxygen thingys. Now, I know that's bc we weren't flying high enough, but still having the oxygen thingys somehow makes me feel better. Oh wait, did I mention this plane was straight out of the 70s and I'm pretty sure had all the original parts. After the dreadful flight I Swore I would never step foot on another plane like that again...till we went home of course. After waiting 1.5 hours JUST to drop our bags off for inspection we got to the gate and there were the little buses waiting to take us to our inadequate-feeling little plane. This plane was at least a little newer looking..which made me wonder, Why do they still make planes like this? Anywhoo, after an eternity in the air we landed...fast and hard...and the back of the plane skidded sideways...it was like the pilot fell asleep and overcorrected or something. Either way it was dreadful...and that will be our Last trip on American Craplines. I'm still counting my blessings that we made it with all our fingers and toes!! Glad to see you're having fun!! We're already counting down till next year!!!
