Hi John/Heidi:
What a busy blog today. I like your analogy of the Nutcracker to your former date many years ago. Very funny.
So i guess you are now int he doghouse with many Russians since you evidently haven't learned how to cross the street in their country. I can just picture you stranded in the middle of the street.
What a set of pictures today. Seems like Bubba has had a great time on his Alaskan adventure.
Hope you met up with Heidi ok. Good luck hopping back across the pond for your trip to LA.
Thanks for another great blog,
David

John

Glad to see that your having a good time and that you'll be with Heidi soon, sorry to hear that your ankle is still bothering you. The pictures are outstanding and I can't wait to see for myself in August.

P.S. We got a dog!

My question is how did you get back across the street?

And, btw, did you enjoy a cigar after the ballet?

The photos are brilliant.

I've heard so much about the dangers of Russia but the beauties are simply irresistible. Thanks to tours like Carnival provides, you can enjoy the good and not worry about the bad.

Good job!

Thanks for the great blog and pictures from St. Petersburg - it brought back fond memories of my trip there a couple of years ago.
It is said that eyes are the window to the soul - I think you can tell if someone is in genuine need. Your sharing with others, both in cash and kindness, is a great example for all of us who are fortunate enough to be able to travel to distant lands.

John,
You said you were going to have the ankle looked at and fixed but it sounds like you didn't do it.

PLEASE get it done, and soon. The problem will only get worse and at a most inopportune time you will twist/trip/slip or something and end up in bed in a cast and on your back for some time.

Best to take care of it NOW.

Happy to hear you made it safely across the street. Those little green men are just used to lure one to have a near death experience. But now you safe and back with Heidi to take care of you. Looking forward to the Raspberry reports. Jeri

John,

I am so happy you enjoyed the ballet... I know I would have! Your words were spot on.. to see it in it's home country... Ahhh, Swan Lake in Russia!

And matryoshka... I have collections of them. From the authentic ones with their rich color and beautiful faces... to silly, silly knock offs and themes... I have a special shelf, just for them...

As a child, they're a whole set of friends to play with, but didn't take up much room... and now... they still are friends, but with beautiful smiles and faces, and painted clothes, and stories: my stories of acquiring them and their stories that can be told to me over and over agin with different plots and endings...

Now, please be carefully returning to the plane... No more street crossings... You're too precious to us!!! (I'm wondering... are Russian cigars that special???)

Thank you!!! You're blog, as always, brings laughter and smiles to my face!!!

Regards,
Lambie

John, I need HELP. It's April 13 and it's snowing in Michigan (That must be some more of Al Gore's global warming BS working). Even worse it's still 300 days till the 2009 Bloggers Cruise on the CARNIVAL FANTASY leaving from New Orleans.

Enjoy your time with Heidi and maybe another hourly raspberry update day.
