Ein Raspberry Blog

Well, 200 people smell ……it’s amazing how it’s minus 1000 degrees outside the plane but inside it’s hotter than high noon in the Sahara.

The Captain apologized again as everyone fanned themselves with the inflight magazine. We just landed at Berlin and as we taxi to the gate I am illegally using my Raspbery to do a blog thingy.

In a few moments I will peal my sweaty back from the plastic chair and take my smelly body through Immigration and customs and hope my suitcase isn’t in Siberia.

Goodness I smell bad………..the whole plane does……….Air Berlin…….more like Air France.

More later

  • I’ve always said that the fun in travel is the adventure — the things you DON’T expect. Serendipity!

Sounds as if you are having a bit more adventure than necessary, John. I’m not certain that a plane load of sweaty people comes under the heading “Serendipity”….

Definitely, if we want to see these places, a cruise is the only way to go…

  • John! Wow! I thought I had it bad dealing with Mexico immigration, by comparison it sounds like Disneyland. Unbelievable. As a Fly-On I really understand how grueling airports, cramped planes, and all the rest of it can be. Just had to comment on all of this plane stuff that you’ve posted recently, the blog is now a part of my life like morning coffee. Also, really enjoy the reports from my future Cruise Director Chris Roberts, hear he’s a really great guy! This will be my 3rd Summer flying back and forth to what can only be described as majestic wilderness on steroids. A beautiful day in Alaska is like nothing else, not to be missed.

Wednesday I leave for my last performance with CD Shawn Bussey, she’s a good friend and I could never repay her for her support, really gonna miss her. She’s moving to the Legend in June.

So hang in there! Keep the blogs coming! Congrats on the huge success you’ve accomplished! Ned Rifken - “Carnival’s Ambassador of Swing”

    John…
Just speak with a French accent…. they will understand the smell then. LOL!

  • John,
I will be so surprised if you don’t get sick, first you’re really cold, then your really hot now if your shirt is soaked you will get cold again.

If your bags are not there, go and buy some clean clothes and throw away the ones you are now wearing!

  • Of course it smells John, did you forget about all the hair under the wings? You do realise that Murphy is really on your side. Think about how dull and perhaps boring these blogs would be if all you could write about ended up sounding like nothing more than a travel-log.
With all these “Murphy inspired” stories you have the whole world reading (well maynot the whole world) just to see what adventures you will experience next. You have our sympathy but secretly we are anxiously awaiting to read about the next hilarious (I know only to us readers) escapade.
This has been better than any syndicated sitcome on US TV.

  • Did Helga offer to pour some water over the sauna rocks whilst you were sweltering in the air spa?

  • Thanks for all the wonderful pics from Russia, they are great !

    No a/c on a plane- yikes !

John and I saw the movie “21″ yesterday- now I’m ready to play blackjack in the casino LOL.

  • Hi John,
I can only imagine what your friends in Berlin had to say as you came through immigration.
Just think, you’d fit in France very well now.
    Glad you got there safely.
Only a few more days until you cross the pond.
    Good luck!
    David
