John...

I've always wonder what the male spieces goes through whent they decide to buy those "wonderful gifts" (said tongue in cheek)... How exactly do we end up with that fragrance, or color of nightgown, or "perfect prize???"

John, if Heidi's going to be home, without you... she'll need a computer... give her one! Find a laptop, online, or local, give her her own to do her work and then write to you as you're working and she's at home...

Until you find that: Write her a love letter. Yep, hang your head with I'm sorries, tell her where you'd be without her, remind her how you met and courted, buy her flowers that remind you of the romance... You have a gift of words... write them, by hand, on a parchment scroll, and give her a memory and some tears of love!!!

Gotta love you!!!

Hi John/Heidi:
The classics always work. I'm sure your gift will go over very nicely.
Very exciting about the changes afoot and it will be nice to have the Freedom making year-round runs from the states. Now if we can just get more ships running out of Galveston.
Hope everything else is going well. I have heard that my mother is going to be sailing with you in a month. Be nice to her :)
Thanks,
David

John,

You'll like this - Do you know who invented the SCART connector ?

That'll be the French - maybe it's their revenge on you ... Shameless cut and past from wikipedia

SCART (from Syndicat des Constructeurs d'Appareils Radiorécepteurs et Téléviseurs) is a French-originated standard and associated 21-pin connector for connecting audio-visual (AV) equipment together.

BTW- Do you still announce crew only boat drills in Cantonese ?

John,
I hope the Freedom's new schedule can sqeeze in a few more hours in Key West...It's a great stop..however usually it's a 7am or 8am -2pm stop....I never figured out why...we need more time there to explore and bar hop in the afternoon.
Just my opinion...a Golf stop here would also be good.

We have five remotes in regular use for our TV recording/viewing. As soon as I figured out to use them all in harmony, something would change in the setup and I would have to figure it out all over again.

But this time he hasn't changed anything in a while and I can actually watch a video, a DVD, a recorded program, or what's actually on TV without calling for help.

Now he's worried. After all, he's no longer indispensable. LOL

OK John- Is she or isn't she? Heidi is leaving the ship in a couple of months, does that mean she is with child? Too bad she won't be able to attend the 2nd bloggers cruise, or will she? I am disappointed that I will never get the chance to meet her. I HOPE and PRAY you will still be on the Splendor for the crossover and caribbean cruise in November, so we can see you along with Empress Bee and Prince Charlie, and hopefully Nanni as well in P.R. Can't wait to hear who the new Godmother of the Splendor will be, and please write an update about Heidi's departure. Isn't it going to be hard for you two being apart? How long more will you be cruising with Carnival. Ciao, Linda & Mike

Oh John,
The visuals on your electronics woes were so easy to conjure...I have lived them all too!! I am oh-so-slowly making great strides with my new camera (Thank you MachMan!!) and can now take pics and get them into my laptop dancer thingy!! It is so fabulous to offer photo workshops on board, let's do that on Carnival too please!!!
Now I am reading that Heidi is to stay ashore?? More on this please.....:>) Change makes us all humanly nervous, but happy change not-so-much. I will selfishly hope it does not prevent Heidi from joining us on the Bloggers cruise!
The changes for the Freedom do not surprise, with the cost of airfare now far exceeding the cost of the cruise, Europe is difficult to manage right now, as badly as I want to add that experience to my cruising history!! I feel for all those who had her booked already, and I hope Carnival can do right by all of them. I trust it will happen!
We are awaiting the breaking news of the day!!!
Hugs to you and Heidi, and Stephanie!!!

Oh, John! I can sooooo feel the pain of the laptop thingy! I can't tell you how many times I lost my own work! I must be a slow learner. And even in the process, I kept hitting buttons, and had I just stopped, some of the material would have been saved, but noooooo, I kept going! My sympathy to both of you! You are a very smart man to go shopping.

Regarding the Carnival Freedom! What great news! I haven't sailed on the Freedom, yet, and I love sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale. All the itineraries sound great. Maybe I can do a B2B2B!
