Yes, 2 times on the Carla the first time was my graduation trip. I have always remember the crew from those trips. One of the them I saw 2 years ago on the Magica. He is a head waiter now and gave us a bottle of wine.

What an amazing blog on the Concordia. She is absolutely gorgeous. I love the color scheme and she seems like a wonderful vessel. I hope I am able to visit her one day.

John,

Is Massimo Garbarino the captain, or Federica’s assistant? You gave the same name for both. Thanks for the pictures. The ship is beautiful. The picture of the guy getting water dumped on his head looked a little “strange” given the statue standing at just the right (wrong?) angle. (It’s the one Jon, “Lookingforwardtothe…,” mentioned.)

Is there a separate “spa” dining room on the Splendor or is that just a Costa Concordia thing? Do people staying in the spa cabins pay extra for using the pools and lounges, etc., or just for the treatments that require hands-on by spa staff?

The movie Russ Franklin mentioned…”Hot Fuzz”… stars the inimitable Simon Pegg of “Shaun of the Dead” fame. If you aren’t familiar with him you are missing one of your funniest performers. I hope he will continue to appear in these crazy movies as they are such fun.

I know you just can’t wait to get underway on your beautiful Splendor. Give my greetings to Heidi, please.

We would cruise Costa and some other CCL lines if CCL would honor Platinum Status for Carnival sister lines and give that great military price Carnival gives. If not we will just keep going on the new ships Carnival keeps coming out with.

Bravo, Rus, for your suggestion that All sister-ship cruising count toward Carnival VIP status! We would have hit VIP a long time ago, had our HAL and Costa cruises counted. We always try Carnival first when looking at cruises, but alas, Carnival is not everywhere we want to be and we sometimes have to go out of the Carnival umbrella.

Nanni on the Carla C? We sailed her on our very first cruise…and even had a crew member come to our home and visit us! Our two Costa Med cruises again confirmed the love of all things Italian–food, people, love of life. And we are now counting down the days to our Eurodam cruise……and enjoying yet another cultural experience, all thanks to that great company, Carnival.

John, thanks for all your chatty updates. Our best to you, Heidi, and the wonderful Stephanie! Ciao,
