After spending years scorning the Eye Pod I admit that since Heidi bought me one I have accepted it into my life and confess that I am a born again Poder.

However……………after today…………….I wish I never had.

In the beginning, listening to an iPod was a solitary pursuit. No one knew what you had on there, so you could load it up with all your favourite tunes, no matter how embarrassing and full of sugar they might be

This morning while passing through the theatre one of our technicians gave me something that basically looked like a piece of wire… It didn’t appear to be the best gift I’d ever received until he explained what it was for. “It’s so you can connect your Eyepod to your mobile phone,” he said.

I pretended that this was the best gift I had ever received, thanked him and walked off.

Why would I want to connect my Eyepod to my mobile phone? What would they possibly have to say to one another? It would be like putting a Carnival smokestack on the Staten Island Ferry…………… fun, in a “look at that” sort of way, but totally pointless.

So, it’s 5 pm and as promised here is more news from PA 007.

John, the office was buzzing at the news on the Carnival Dream. Normally at this stage the office juniors see the information at the same time as the public. Not only was everyone pleased to be in the loop but there is a huge hunt on to discover who leaked the information…..it’s very exciting.

If I have to listen to one more Italian pop song I think I may do someone some serious damage with a chair leg.

The PA tests started again today at 8 am…………..I was already awake but yet to start the day and as I minced around the cabin without warning I was hit with Italian hip hop drum and bass rave heavy crap rap pop………….I refuse to use the word music in that sentence.

I know………….they have to do it…………………..I know……………I keep going on and on about it…………….but honestly…………what I would give to be able to work in peace and quiet………….just for one day.

Good Morning

I apologize to any of you who could not access the Carnival web sites or the blog yesterday. There were power failures in Miami yesterday which brought the thingy that serves the computer distributor through the router which in turn sends the direction to the manifold………look………something blew up and it was broken……now it’s working again.

This means that you need to take the time to press the return page button and have a look at yesterday’s blogs if you haven’t yet done so. Please also make sure that you view the video made by the Cunard crew. I have read the comments from some of you already and I can see that you agree with me that the video is totally brilliant.

There are times when words are not necessary and this was just such an occasion. Peter Shanks and I stood……….sharing a special moment……….that needed no narration.

We both soaked up the everlasting memories of the Queen Elizabeth 2, The Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Victoria, three special ladies…… together……………..one final time.

I admit that as I had talked to Peter earlier that day I had not realized that he was such an important member of the Carnival UK group. This is probably due to the fact that he is as comfortable in the pub chatting about football and how difficult it is to get a decent pint of beer………. as he is in the board room.

All men are created equal …………….so said some wise man who probably had a beard, wore sandals and listened to Frank Zappa…………..unfortunately he was talking bollocks.

You could give me the same ingredients that Gordon Ramsay uses and put me in the same kitchen with the same equipment, and even though we have exactly the same number of hands, fingers and the ability to swear every over word……. I can absolutely guarantee that I’d end up with a plate full of slop that even a rat would turn his nose up at.
