How much fun!! I’m betting that Steph is hating the idea of leaving the Splendor. I know I certainly would.
Looking forward to reading the ‘old’ blog again but, believe me, these videos are FANTASTIC!!
Thanks so much to you, John, Heidi, Steph, Tom and everyone else who has made this all so special!!!
Cheers!!!

John! This was hilarious! You are hilarious! I absolutely LOVE your video blogs. I laugh out loud with everything you do. Your daily written blogs are fabulous too, but to hear you say your jokes (and your facial expressions around the french) have much more impact when i can actually see you do it! Keep it up and hopefully we’ll be able to cruise with you again soon. Only 2 trips with you is not enough. You rock!!!

Hello John,
I loved this video blog, especially since we got to see and hear James. We have sailed with him onboard for the last two years and he is definitely a riot. It felt like we were there again, hearing the music and seeing the staff. I have to wait 243 more days till we sail again but who’s counting. Keep the videos coming. It helps to make the waiting easier.

John, A post is a post is a post. No matter if it’s written or video there great. A quick video is just as good as a long written post. So whatever is easiest for you. Just get some rest.
Your going to have all of France coming after you.

PS. Will you go to the French Quarter in New Orleans.

July 13th, 2008 at 10:02 am
Best video blog ever!!! James was hilarious. You must keep showing us the ship in this way. It is so great to be able to see what the ship is really like. Brings back memories of the Freedom.
July 13th, 2008 at 10:08 am
Thanks John for the video. I love it as it gives us a chance to see the ship and the crew. It says a lot about the kind of person you are when you showcase the crew that passengers don’t usually see. It shows you believe they are important. Loved the short interview with the ladies from France–too funny! I think you should do this everyday so we can see you and hear your voice. Oh and I was thinking last night about your Mum and Dad and hoped they were given a suite for their anniversary cruise with their son and daughter in law. The video really makes us all want to be there sooner. The wait is too long right now..I think 129 days and counting.

Loved the video. Laughed a lot especially when you ran into the two French ladies. Watching the video has me torn between saving for my Alaska cruise next year or spending it right now to go on a cruise RIGHT NOW!

John, You are too much! These video blogs are wonderful–so great to hear you, see you, and laugh with you! Not quite as good as being there in person, but the next best thing! OMG–I laughed so hard at you with the French ladies! I am looking forward to your commentaries once you get “regular” cruisers onboard, but please keep the video blogs coming!

John,
Loved, loved, loved all the video blogs, especially today’s. I have to admit I’m rather thankful for the short blogs and video blogs. I’ve been trying to catch up with all the blogs and comments and it makes it a lot easier.
As I mentioned I was on the Victory last weekend for the 4 day to Canada, taking my boyfriend on his first cruise. Loved having my first balcony, we had a bottle of champagne and a wonderful view of the Statue of Liberty as we sailed away. I have to say that I think Carnival’s biggest asset, continues to be the people. The crew was a really wonderful and friendly bunch. I enjoyed Brad Calabrese as cruise director and he was very good natured when I harassed him about more promotion for the piano bar and other back lounge performers.
And big kudos to whoever at Carnival controls the weather! LOL! We had absolutely spectacular weather for our one day in port in St. John, NB. Perfectly clear, sunny and 75. Brilliant. I even came home with a tan!
Our only real let down was the food, but that was addressed on the comment card.
I was working so I didn’t get to watch the live blog of the naming ceremony, but I have checked out the pictures and commentary (Thanks Kevin for putting it all in one place!). Excellent work Stephanie and Tom!
I have another cruise on the Legend in September to help tide me over until the Blogger’s Cruise v.2.0. I can’t wait. And I’m anxiously awaiting more details on activities for the BC. But I have patience and now the visual of Big Ed climbing a rope in a rubber suit to tide me over.
I think Heidi should be the Bloggers Cruise godmother. Because she is a very important part of this whole Blog Thingy and where would you be without her (both in life and in blog material!).
There now, I think I’m caught up… Oh wait, let me add my voice to say: John please remember that you can’t be everything to everybody all the time. It’s just not humanly possibly. You don’t need to apologize for not having time to write a lengthy blog post. You have a lot of other things on your plate, probably too many. You need to have some downtime.
Cheerios,
Laura (aka divetrash, aka Princess Laura, the sweet and compromised of Big Ed’s Evil Krewe)

John, you are soooooo funny! Loved the video. Are you sure those 2 French ladies weren’t “plants?”
Whether it is with a written blog or a video, just keep taking us along with you. I’m enjoying the trip!

John, I can only say it’s a good thing you’re NOT a drinker! You’d be dangerous soused. Where do you get all that energy??? Funny video. Wish we were there!

Hi John and Heidi, (and all who help with the videos). Have had a great time getting familiar with the new Splendor. Will see it in person starting August 18 but it is fun watching everything as it has been put together over the months. I wish I had half of the energy you devote to keeping in touch with so many people.
See you in London in 36 days (as if anyone is counting). Of course that will bring us back to more evenings with Ron Pass as well which we really enjoy. Thanks John, Heidi, and all your staff for the great fun you present for everyone.
See you soon!
Love,
Barb and Joe Dombrowski

Loved the video tour of the ship today. It was nice to see James again also. He is such a trip! Hope you are getting your rest between shows and entertaining. I gotta say that I love the blogs but the videos are a nice change and I sure do enjoy them. We will be here for you whenever you can get back to regular blogging.
Thanks Stephanie for all your hard work and dedictation to the blog.
Blessings to all

How brilliant this video is. I was laughing at the nose holding with the French ladies – but the line about “you need your roots done” put me on the floor.
Thank you John, Stephanie and Tom - Great Job!
Maybe next video, Heidi can take us on a spa day!!
Happy Sailing,

Hi John,
Love the video blogs. Makes me feel like I’m getting to peak at people and places I don’t normally get to see. And how lucky(?) were you to be able to run into 2 French women?
Don’t worry about returning to a “normal” blog. Normal is all relative, and who of us has normal relatives. (Sorry, feeble attempt at humor here). We’ll be here whether you’re writing or just sending a quick clip.
Love to you and Heidi.

Loved the video…I am laughing so hard. It’s such a treat to see you in person doing your thing. And, I love seeing the “behind the scenes stuff”…even the trash in the elevator shaft.
Keep up the great work.

Wow! This all looked like so much fun, too bad I couldn’t have gone with you guys. But with this live blogging it felt like I really did. Thank you for giving me a great idea of what a Carnival European cruise would be like. Steph, John and Tom, Thanks to you guys I will be booking my trip soon!
July 14th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
Hi John/Heidi:
I really enjoyed the vlog today. Thanks for posting this. It seems like these keep getting better and better.
I bet you’re looking forward to things returning back to somewhat “normal” for you. As busy as things have been for you over the past 6-8 weeks, anything quiet is a good thing for you.
FYI, Training camp is around the corner so you can get ready to start cheering for the Dallas Cowboys in the not-so-distant future.
Thanks again for posting and looking forward to keeping in touch.

The video blogs are great. Your written ones are fantastic. It was fun to watch you just go around and get people to participate in the video. Just popping open a door a saying hi and introducing the crew working. Let’s see more areas of the ship.
Thanks to everyone involved in getting these slapped on the world wide widget.
July 14th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Hi John,
Bet you thought I’d fallen off the face of the earth! Nope. I’m still here. Just have a lot of things going on here in sunny FL. As you may remember I can’t see so hearing your voice on the blog is great! I almost fell out of my chair when you found those people from France! Thanks so much for all the laughs. Keep em commin. Love to Heidi.

Hi John
I’m your biggest tavel agent fan in Scotland!
I’ve just returned to my travel agency having been on the 3 day Amsterdam cruise…yes, it takes a long time to get from Dover back to Scotland!! I had tried to say hello to you and introduce myself onboard but never managed to catch you, you are one hell of a busy guy! However, I was delighted to see myself in the backgrond of your video blog (the one with the French women!) and you said ‘hello love’ to me so I feel in a way we did indeed meet! And you are right, a lot of the travel agents onboard made a mockery out of the Open Bar card, I felt very selfconscious using it onfront of the ‘real’ guests….although at 4 months pregnant at least I wasn’t ordering ridiculous amounts of alcohol! And thank you for giving us a giggle when we were waiting to get off the ship in Amsterdam, fancy the port authorities only putting on 2 immigration guys to check our passports!!! And lastly, I just wanted to say what a laugh I got when watching the video that Lynn & her UK sales team put together for ‘Hey Big Splendor’ - what stars they are!
I’ll be logging on every day to see how things are going onboard and I hope to have some Scottish clients onboard with you soon. Well done again during the 3 day cruise, it was tough but you and the crew were amazing, take care….
your #1 Scottish fan xx
