I love the French jokes. I wonder if you remember the phone conversation you had with Larry on your morning show on the Freedom in May 2007 -- where you both swapped some favorite Polack vs. English jokes (he is of Polish heritage)! We remember! I must say that I am enjoying once again reading "In Their Own Words" and the occasional Purser's Desk note of passenger's complaints or compliments! Some people think that by making fools of themselves they can get something for nothing and unfortunately that sometimes works. We are looking forward to our cruise to (where is it again?) oh yea, the Baltic States in just three short weeks. I wish we could meet you personally as we have come to know you through your Blog. I don't want to risk someday sailing on the same ship with her. As for the french cop with le stick up le derrierre about your (lack of) photo permits, I totally agree with you. What a putz! But I think you got it wrong about the guy that wanted a street # for your hotel. Since he accepted a number from you that was obviously bogus, it seems to me that he was trying his best to let you have your holiday while still doing his job. He probably had been told by his bosses that a full hotel address was absolutely necessary. So, he made sure that he got a full address from you, and he made sure that you got to enter the country.
