We are taking the Splendor, even though we live on the East coast(Oil and all). You were our last cruise director and we have never laughed so much. We really enjoy the atmosphere and hate that we will miss you on our June 20th cruise. We just love the time. Any suggestions for ports and excursions?

Hi John, my husband and I will be taking our 8th or 9th cruise with the fun ship this summer. This was a great blog today and as someone who has been on many of the ships, it was great to see some old time pictures of the Mardi Gras. I can't believe how long ago that was.
I enjoyed Bubba's interview and its always great to hear from him.
Thanks for the nice pictures from Berlin.
Hope the diet is going well and thanks for posting.
Take care,
David

Hi John/Heidi:<br

Although I'm so used to it from walking all over the place when I lived in NYC and the transit was my main source of transportation... unlike, New Jersey where you need a car just to buy milk......... My girlfriend and I occasionally take a walk at the beach and she usually gets tired of walking before me. One of the boardwalks near me is three miles long and there have been times where I walked to whole thing roundtrip. Thanks, Kelly for the great photos of the Mardi Gras! Nobody in my family has been on the Mardi Gras. Crusing for us started when my parents went on the Ecstasy for their anniversary back in 1997. I had to wait another five years after that for my first cruise. Good for Heidi for plans to rescue the dog! My girlfriend wants to get a dog in about a year or two, so perhaps we can do the same thing. As for a Carnival database, that sounds like a great idea. All of the ships operated by Costa have webcams on them and a virtual map to show their exact location. Since Carnival Corp owns them, maybe the same can be done for all Carnival ships? As always, thanks for a wonderful blog! Take care.Alex G.

John,

I don’t get to go walking a lot. Enchanted Capri seems to live on.Enchanted Isle was eventually scrapped.

I'm sure you started off your interviews with Bubba since I will be cruising with him on Sept 3rd! I have gone back and re-read all his comments from the familiarization trip he made in April. Have a link to this "family" map from each line's home page. (I find that my "visits" this way help to tide me over until the next cruise, and to "see" where I might want to go next!)BTW: Perhaps someone could help to get those shipboard cameras that are currently available on the Web to be updated more regularly. (The Liberty's cameras haven't updated in over a month now, even though she's in the Caribbean. I wouldn't she would have too many satellite difficulties there...)

John:

Great blog, as always!

As to the database of CCL ships, perhaps they could expand on the concept that is found on the Carnival Ship Locator (on the Web at <a
