Today is a happy day, she is FINALLY off your ship and all is good in the world of Splendor. I can only imagine the party you are having, or wish you had time to have.A new group of cruisers are on board and I hope there will be no Mrs. S.Nobs, no pax that thinks the world revolves around them and no pax that only want their needs to be attempted to as they are the only ones on the ship.Three weeks from today we leave for your Lindon. I can not wait.Keep smiling John, Mrs. S.Nob is FINALLY gone.

Good afternoon John,

I am so looking forward to seeing the picture of Mrs. S.Nob. Boy that Trans-canal cruise sounds absoutely amazing. I'd be happy with that and i'm jealous of the folks that can take the whole journey.
I can't imagine having to worry about getting shots before taking a vacation but its very smart that he is asking those questions.
The eclipse photos were great. Thanks for posting.
Another great blog and don't worry, i'll continue reading.
I think about the lady who drives to town 3x per week to catch up with the internet. I'm lucky.
Thanks again,
David

Hi John/Heidi:<br

Thanks for the profile on CD Malcolm - we loved him on the Victory last year and am sailing with him again on Aug. 28 out of NYC. Whoo Hoo!Have you considered getting a cat? Probably not since it sounds like you are dog/donkey people. We too love dogs, but now have 4 kitties that are so much fun. Just a thought.Best wishes for your next cruise!

Love your blog! You're right, we have no information on the carnival.com site (I did a quick search there for 'vaccinations' and 'yellow fever' up in the handy-dandy Search box in the top-right corner). But I'm kinda shocked the agent in Miami (?) didn't know... why didn't she check with our ResSolutions Department or the ResNet (or refer to our South America training manual)? No vaccinations for US Citizens required to visit any South America port, and only Buenos Aires, Argentina, requires "passengers traveling from countries where cholera and yellow fever originated" to have proof of vaccination....Uh ooohh... think I just let the proverbial cat out of the bag... :DTime to buggerer off before PA 007 comes looking through the cubes for me! Ciao!

Hey John! I have a big smile on my face as I do this because I am finally back to the blog. I had e-mailed you about my situation and my extended absence. This morning I got our very slow computer who I have named Bill Slowsky (I don't know if any of you are familiar with the Comcast Turtles- but the male is Bill.) I enjoyed reading the blog from Sunday. It was good to be a part of the group again.
Loved the pictures of the eclipse! By the way, John, we loved the Splendor! It is an absolutely phenominal ship! Those of you who are waiting to sail on it are truly in for a treat. Of course, we also had the World's Greatest Cruise Director!
Take care and look for more frequent comments from me!

By doing this you only encourage her to act that way and she will continue to have a sense of entitlement. It's one thing to keep guests happy but to cave in to bullies who threaten you is ridiculous. Why not spend the time and energy on guests who really deserve the attention?

I don’t understand why you agreed to pay for that woman’s transportation to the Anne Frank house. I believe we had him as a CD waaay back then onboard the Fantasy. Good times. Wish I could take that voyage from Florida to California; sounds amazing, especially since I live in Florida and want to move to California after I graduate!

Hi John, thanks for posting the interview with Malcolm. I also still want to know why she picked Carnival if she loves Silversea & Cunard so much. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of her namesake. And good news that you are adopting a dog, instead of buying from a puppy mill.Excellent interview with Malcolm. He was on the Imagination in 2003 (not as CD), and my sister is leaving today on the Victory and I've told her all about him. Can't wait for the definite word on Mobile & NO. The Triumph was supposed to move there a few years ago, but that was temporarily changed. That's good news and proof of how well NO is coming back. So it's time to play "Musical Ships" again.I took a look at the website mentioned a couple of blog things ago, and found out there will be about 6,000 people in St. Thomas when I'm there in October. Good grief. I guess I do most of my shopping at Havensight instead of in town. Much too crowded for me.I agree with you John about the little girls at the opening Olympic ceremonies. Everyone is just being manipulated for the "betterment of the country". Last night I was watching a gymnastics competition and when one of the Chinese gymnasts did poorly and was not going to get a medal she was in tears and seemed inconsolable. Most of the other gymnasts had stoic expressions when they did badly, but this girl was crying her eyes out like it was a matter of life and death. I wonder what these children are really told.I can't believe we're more than halfway thru August already. A little more than a month until I cruise - it seems like I just booked it.Hope to read more soon,

Once Sensation is refurbished, that ship will look wonderful in New Orleans, especially with the Triumph doing 7 day cruises from New Orleans. Will they be adding a Fish and Chips restaurant to Triumph before the repositioning?

A completely refurbished Fantasy returning to New Orleans will be a wonderful site.
