I will be on the American Inaugural of the Splendor on November 17th. Will you be on that for that special sailing? Also, I want to confirm....Are you going to be on the Liberty for the July 20, 2009 sailing? In between, I have the Valor in February, the Pride in April, and the Tiumph in June. After the Liberty in July, I have the Miracle in August, and then the DREAM in November. Any news on whether or not you get the inagural on the Dream from New York? You were my first cruise director in 1991 on the Fantasy. I am approaching my 40th Carnival cruise very soon. Thanks for creating a lifestyle and a great habit for me!Brian

John,<br

I used to work for Thoushalnotbenamed of the seas and after two contracts with them decided I didn't agree with how some of the people in the office ran things. (budget issues, equipment in diss-repair, sketchy contract issues, etc....) I always enjoyed catching your blog when I was at the internet cafe because I loved seeing how you viewed life at sea and reading about the times you have had. Also lets face it guests can be funny. I always enjoyed the silly questions "What time is the midnight buffet?" was always one of my favorites. I have been home for about 7 months and I am excited to say that I will be joining the Carnival Freedom on Aug 30th as the Lighting Technician. I chose to apply to Carnival solely based on your blog and how much you seem to enjoy working for them. I hope we have a chance to meet, work, and maybe catch a drink together.Your friend at sea,Sean Norby

Dear John,

After reading your blog for so long the reply from Bob and Donna made me want to write my own. I love your shows and booked the Carnival Splendor for December 2008 in hopes to see you once again - We were on the Triumph twice just to have you as our cruise director. The last time we were on the Triumph was one of your last shows (before you and Heidi were married), I am so happy that you did not stay in retirement. The last cruise we were on was the Victory. I did soooo miss you, you are truely the Best (and now have something to compare you to). I booked the Splendor as soon as I could, but space filled up fast and the soonest we could get 12 cabin was December 13 - 20, I was hoping to see you on the Cruise.Thank you for the great entertainment!

Great to see the old Q&A return in a new form.
Thanks!
I would have loved to see Def Leppard on a cruise. Oh well!
Keep the blogs coming. I appreciate it and i know things can get frustrating at times. Hence why we love reading it so much since we don't know what to expect.
Take care!

(I have about 150 bottle of wine in my cellar).Your blogs make me laugh and I'm sure cruising with you would make me laugh more.I hope one of these days to take a cruise with you and treat you and the Mrs to a meal on shore. Yeah, that would be fun.You certainlay have way with people, to bad most don't understand that. It's a good thing I'm not doing your job!Sign me "a funny wine & beer snob"

John, the patience you show and the things you do to make people happy amazes me at times.

I run my fathers business and while we (and my fantastic employees) do everything we can, I do draw a line and it’s a heck of a lot closer than when you draw one!

Sure, I know more about wine and beer than you do, I’d have loved to gone to lunch with you and the Mrs. yeah, I love wine & beer but snob, no I’m not. I can report first hand you are reading too much into blog text...yes the Baltic schedule is hectic yet an absolute wonder at the same time. Traveling through several time zones each and every 12 days certainly pose a challenge to all aboard...but the crew on this ship deserves tremendous kudos for their great spirit and attitude which travels from the top down. I found John and Heidi to be in terrific form even when an occasional guest e.g. Mrs. S. Nob stretches your soul and patience to the limit...I'm not a medical professional, but reasonably sure John is ok. JMHO

I agree that the passenger make-up will be different in Europe, but I have no doubt that you will be able to deal the different personalities -- just as you always have!

John, you are wonderful!
