Keep up the good work and hope to someday work with you.Some of the people you mention in your blog we see in evidence all over the world, recent story i can relate to is Captain Rude (the Eighth Dwarf (The other seven at least had some redeeming features) Had a guest on a cruise the day complain about the heat out on the Sundeck as i was working with the sound system unfortunately our ship doesn't have a sliding roof yet, it was all i could do to bite my tongue and not say just a second sir let me just go see if Al Gore has found a solution for global warming yet. instead i smiled polite and suggested he go inside and cool off for a while.3rd degree sunburn is not a good look on anybody. The story of the twins is incrediably touching and in a life where we recieve hundreds of Fwds that read a heartbreaking story that we skim over to see that yes it is just another chain letter, your genuine tale moved me. so thank you. If the world had more people with as much heart as you and Heidi appear to have, it would be a much better place for it!!!John for Prime Minister!!!!CheersDann

What a story about the twins and I wish their grandparents luck over the next several years as they raise a family. I will be thinking of them.
Great pictures of the bridge. Nice lighting on it and doc did a great job.
What a story about the Japanese lady and her hair in the pool. I didn't realize that a swimming pool wasn't made for swimming. Guess we learn something new every day.
Thanks for another great blog today and hope all is well.
Take care!

isPermaLink="false">http://johnheald.wordpress.com/?p=5609#comment-24062

John,
You and I share something, namely a wasteline that is abundantly blessed. I experienced the same thing once when someone reached over and actually thought it would be okay to pat my belly and make rude comments. I informed him that he needed to remove his hand while it was still attached. What on earth makes people think this is acceptable behavior? Good grief!
As a grandparent myself I see grandparents raising their grandbabies (my uncle is doing this) and it just sends a shiver up my spine. Don't get me wrong, I love my grandbabies, but after 5 kids, I'm not sure I have the patience left over to raise more children! Those little girls are so very lucky! But what a sad, sad story! Not just the grandkids, but I don't like to even contemplate having to bury a child. That would just do me in! No parent should have to bury their children. So very sad!
Water in the pool! Sheesh! Go figure! If they wanted to stand in the water and contemplate life you should have offered them a life ring and just tow them along behind the ship. I'm pretty sure nobody would be swimming out there! And who knows, you might have caught a giant squid or something! Calamari!
I'm glad you are getting such a great response to your interviews from your fellow cruise professionals! I really do enjoy reading what they have to say! I find their view of their jobs very interesting. We as passengers only see such a small part of their jobs that I don't think we can fully appreciate how hard it is to do their jobs. I especially enjoyed the Commodore's interview. By the time he is done with the physical ship, the guests, his fellow Captains, his crew...whew! How does he fit 48 hours into 24? His must be a labor of love! Of course I think we can all figure out just from the letters and stories that you post that the CD must be the busiest and most thankless job around. I truly have a new found respect for the cruise industry employees after reading your blog-thingy!
Thanks and keep 'em coming!

I was just on KrooozCAMS.com and got to see the Splendor there in Amsterdam. She's lookin pretty good.
Thanks for the help with Valentine. Next year we are booked on a Back to Back on the Liberty. It will be the last 12 day Grand Med and the TransAtlantic. We sure hope you will stick around for both of these since we missed you on last years TA.
Say hi to Heidi for us.Dave and Barb Butler

John,<br
