The possibilities of causing paradox (no, that's not two piers, John...) would be too great. Yes, it would be amazing to be able to jump back and stop John Wilkes Booth from shooting Abraham Lincoln, or Lee Harvey Oswald from shooting JFK, or even stopping the monstrosity of Hitler... but what kind of world would you return to, if you were able to return? By "able to return" I mean a lot of technological advancements happened around WWII, because of the war and the needs of the military. So if you go back and give the good news to Adolf then a lot of the advancements made in technology then would not happen because they weren't needed... and suddenly none of this would exist. Or it would exist but utterly different.And the whole "observer" mentality wouldn't fly, either. Think of the superbug viruses we have now, those that aren't affected by most modern medicines. Now think of one of those hitchhiking on a time traveler to, say, Ancient Greece or Victorian Europe. Sometimes I think the whole world would be better off it at 12:00 every afternoon, for one hour everyone had cookies and milk, listened to a story and took a nap! Thanks for always bringing us these great pictures! Half the time I have no idea what I am actually looking at (geography was never my strong suit!) but I still like to look anyway!
