John, a group of us will be on the Splendor December 13. Was wondering if you will still be the cruise director on the ship at that point.

John I have a question about all the advertisements, and the funshipisland web site, why is there no one smoking, not anywhere on these ships that you are advertising, no ashtrays, no blue smoke in the piano bar nothing, if it’s so prevalent shouldn’t you be showing that in your ads? So that non smokers won’t be mislead….I know there is a cigar bar, so I know what to expect..but from the photos if Carnival see nothing wrong with smoking and allow it even in the cabins, why not show it in the ads?

I don’t expect you to print this but I would like an answer if possible to understand why they don’t show smoking..

For the Burneys baby girl…Madison, or maybe Madison Cadence. Also , have they considered the name Windsor? That is my niece’s name, and I am so proud of her, and she is so beautiful too!

To “I hate formal night”.

There’s an easy solution. Book a table in the steakhouse for formal night.

It’ll cost you $15 a head cover charge – and it’s well worth it, the steaks are fantastic, and cooked to order.

Alternatively, if you have a balcony, book the “ultimate balcony dinner”… cocktails, canapes, steak, lobster, champagne, all served on your balcony. It’s a fantastic experience.

Hello John!
Thank you for this blog! My husband and I sailed on the Fantasy in 2003. I do not remember a cruise director, he left no impression. It was our first cruise so we had no idea what to expect. But we still had a blast! We just sailed on the Conquest in May and it was AMAZING! Wee Jimmy was our cruise director and I could not get enough of him. My husband and I got a picture with him, and he referenced to us in a few of the shows. He was just a hilarious guy and it was so much fun. We were sad to leave, and Wee Jimmy was there as we got off the ship where he gave me a big hug and told me to come sail again. Of 3,000 people on that ship, we had really felt like he cared about us. We are sailing again on April 26 for my grandparent’s 50th anniversary out of San Diego on the Elation. We are incredibly excited. Any idea of who our cruise director will be? I can’t find a schedule anywhere. Please say it will be Wee Jimmy!!

Micki – Not that John needs any backing up, but I’ll vouch for Steve as a great Cruise Director as well… we had him on the liberty the first week of June and he was the best we’ve had in three cruises. (Of course as a fellow canuck I’m probably a little biased)

After the welcome aboard talk my wife took our 3y.o. to go meet him and Steve asked us to bring him back for his show that night as he needed a young kid. Little Oliver couldn’t keep up though and spent the dinner seating sleeping across two chairs – Oliver was so disappointed the next morning when he woke up and asked if he could “go on stage now” and we had to tell him he slept through it. Steve always had a big friendly hello for Oliver whenever we saw him around the ship and he showed everyone a great time.

You are an amazing guy. The way you help out people in need and put up with people are just needy. Thats awesome how you helped out the married couple. Like the one comment, I also blame you for my addiction to Carnival. My fist and second cruises were with you. My third was with Todd who helped me propose to my fiancee and next we have Butch. I do have one question I have called and talked with people at Carnival and they have no record of my first cruise. Even though I have 2x provided them with the info they asked for. What is my next step. Thank you and Stephanie for any way you can assist us. For all your troubles could I interest you in a plastic trophy or a bottle of bubbly.
