As a North Carolina girl raised on Grits, It is indeed a course cereal made from ground corn, White corn is OK, but yellow corn is Nirvana. Butter, cheese and salt are indispensible, of course, but you ain't lived until you've tried Shrimp and Grits, a Low Country brunch cassarole that will make you want to eat until you hurt yourself. For the recipe, check out an Augusta GA cookbook called Tea Time At The Masters. You may want to know that the dish is actually named after an exclusive sorority called Girls Raised In The South (GRITS). Pat Me again! When you tell someone that American TV is not something they can be go in Europe, how many times to do you have to say it? You should have charged him for the mic, even if it was not damaged. I travel a lot and never do I find grits outside of the southern states...but I found them off-shore of France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy! Obviously the guest requesting grits for lunch (oh no!) is in a deprived grits mode, but what a wonderful way to recycle breakfast leftovers!
