Good Evening everyone

Just a quick thingy to sat “Bugger, I just got told we are going to miss the Port of Cannes because of high winds.” We are now going to be calling at Genoa instead.

So, now I am preparing to tell the guests at 7:30 pm and then hold a quick travel talk, Q&A etc.

So, this may be the only blog for tonight.

I will send a quick recap in later and hopefully not too late that Stephanie can’t post it.

The captain says it’s because of high winds………………it’s a real shame ………….what have I ever done to the French?

Back soon

John

Are you sure you didn’t have anything to do with the change in itinerary John? HA! HA! I would rather go to Genoa than Cannes anyway, wouldn’t you? Some of my ancestors were from Genoa. Linda

    Hi, John,

Too bad about the port cancellation, but can’t folks do a bus tour to Grasse (the perfume factory, etc.), and Monacco? We enjoyed that a lot on our honeymoon many years ago. Hope you don’t get personally blamed and screamed at for the windy conditions, but then who else could they blame???

    Hi to Heidi and Stephanie.

    Your Pal, Myra

PS: I liked Sue Drip’s “take” on the current financial situation.

    Hi John:
    Good luck going to Genoa.
I remember when you posted some amazing pictures there. I”m sure you’re going to have your hands full dealing with the handful of passengers who are upset about this.
    Hope all is well.
    Take care!
    David

JOHN! Please make double sure that the Captain checked the weather forcast for the correct city and country before you make any announcements to your passengers!
Oh no- not that again! Hahah!

I know they are going to complain but remember if you have gone to Cannes with high winds there were going to be complains anyway. I remember when we went that they move the ship. Not us we were having fun with the wind and bumping around in the tenders. Always laughing, relax, on vacation enjoying every little bit like it should be. I would love to go to Genoa instead. GOOD LUCK!!

  6. Rick says:

High winds? Did you have eggs for breakfast again John?

  7. Oh, John, don’t worry! I’d be happy with the change if I was still on board because I’ve always wanted to go to Genoa!

Hopefully everyone will be understanding but I’m sure there will be some that WON’T be.

    Melissa

  8. Scott says:

It’s just as well as the strong winds are probably coming from the Le Pew factory

  9. Jake says:

oh no… I hope that the guests understand! Best of luck!

  10. Cheryl K says:

Well…at least you don’t have to worry about anyone wanting a refund on the Monte Carlo – Morocco tour because they only got half of it …:-)

    hey John and all bloggers,

just got back from my cruise, i had a GREAT time. food, service, shows, casino and the ports were all great, only thing is we missed San Juan due to a medical emergency and the bad weather from Kyle but besides that all was well

now i have to catch up on all the posts i missed…..

Oh I can only imagine how disappointed your pax must be. I hope they take this news as only the captain wants his pax to be safe.

Cannes was one of my favorite ports when we were there on your last cruise. I hate tendered ports and it was raining that morning but the day turned out to be a beautiful day and my pictures have proved that.

I hope everyone loves Genoa. When you have to go to a different port and excursions for Cannes have been purchased how do you make all the changes for Genoa?

Keep smiling John, I miss you and your lovley staff.

    I think I get Champagne and Chocolate covered Strawberries .. Don’t I ?
