I took my two girls on a weeks cruise to Barbados, Martinique, St.Maarten, St. Thomas, & Dominica, from San Juan; All islands they had never seen before. (Each time I get divorced, they get a trip; it eases the guilt! Last time they got Disneyworld) The food on Carnival has vastly improved; It used to have a reputation of not being so good. Well my 17 yr old wants a HAMBURGER and French Fries EVERY NIGHT for dinner! I told her "Try the Lobster, Filet Minion, Chateau Briand". No, she wanted burger and fries. She asks for KETCHUP to go with the fries the first night. Well there is no KETCHUP on the Table: Fine Linnen, Crystal, Flowers...Our waiter went into the kitchen, and came back with a bottle of ketchup, which he presented to her like a bottle of fine wine: Towel over the elbow, down on 1 knee, showed her the label, uncorked it for her, placed it in a WINE HOLDER. She approved of HEINZ 57 (a good YEAR for ketchup, I presume?) The entire Dining hall went hysterical. This is TYPICAL CARNIVAL FUN! Dear John,

One nice gift idea is for you to start a charm bracelet, with a special charm for each special occasion. Don't be terrorized by all the hormone horror stories, just go with the flow, and be as understanding and supportive as possible, have the shoulder to cry on handy. When I was pregnant with my first, I cried during the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast", so my eldest is now called Belle.
