Baltic Blog

Last week I posted my ultimate Baltic blog featuring the videos from our trips earlier this year. Many of you have commented on the videos and I hope they have inspired you to join me on the Carnival Liberty next year. We’re still working on getting the Tallin video and should have that soon. If you haven’t watched the videos yet here is Stephanie with the link thingy.

Hi everybody,

Just click on the title to read the post and watch the videos: “The Baltic- See You in 2009″.
Thanks!
Stephanie

I’m honoured that I was asked to serve as the Carnival Splendor’s cruise director and was given the chance to experince these wonderful destinantions. I’m even more honoured that Carnival has added links to the blog on carnival.com. They’ve even featured me and my blog in our October Recharge event where you can save on a European vacation. Now for more details visit www.carnival.com/recharge or you can read more here

CARNIVAL’S ‘OCTOBER RECHARGE’ EVENT OFFERS SPECIAL BOOKING INCENTIVES

Month-Long Celebration Includes Free Stateroom Upgrades, Special ‘Fun Ship’ Savings

MIAMI (September 24, 2008 ) – Carnival Cruise Lines will roll out its first-ever “October Recharge” event featuring special offers throughout the month of October.

The month-long promotion will feature a variety of booking incentives, including free stateroom upgrades and special discounts on select “Fun Ship” cruises through 2009.

The special offers are available in conjunction with a variety of “Fun Ship” departures, including a wide range of three- to five-day getaways to the Caribbean or Mexico, seven-day voyages to the Caribbean or Mexican Riviera, or longer length sailings to Europe and Alaska.

“In addition to offering excellent value, October is the perfect time to book a ‘Fun Ship’ cruise for some much-needed R&R as it is positioned perfectly between the busy summer period and the often-hectic holiday season,” said Ruben Rodriguez, Carnival’s executive vice president of marketing and guest experience.

The October Recharge event will be promoted through banner ads and a special section within Carnival’s Web site, as well as e-mail blasts, and trade print advertisements.

Carnival is the largest and most popular cruise line in the world, with 22 “Fun Ships” operating voyages ranging from three to 18 days in length to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, New England, Canada, Bermuda, Europe, and South America. The line has two new ships scheduled for delivery between now and 2011.

Consumers interested in booking a cruise as part of the “October Recharge” promotion, may contact any travel agent, call 1-800-CARNIVAL or visit carnival.com/recharge beginning October 1.

It’s been a long day with our preparations to leave the Carnival Splendor so I leave you with the thought of joining me on a European cruise in 2009. And even though Heidi and the thingy won’t be there with me next year I know it will still be a fantastic time.

Goodnight
John, Heidi and the thingy

  1. John:

I will look forward to watching it all and catching up when we return on Monday from our cruise!!

Until then….keep Heidi happy and stay out of the doghouse!!!

Linda (Mom of your friend DJ)

  2. John–if you insist on calling the baby the thingy, at least call it The Thingy (beginning in capitals) and give him or her some respect. Because, you know, in just a few short months, The Thingy will be running your lives…..completely! Then again, with your stomach issues, you should have no problem with what you see when you change diapers!

  3. John & Heidi

We enjoyed our Splendor Baltic cruise so much we are considering doing it again next year on the Liberty.

Ive just shown the photos from our cruise to my Brother & Sister & they now want to go & see it for themselves.

Dont envy you packing to go home, was always the worst part of the contract in my opinion. It amazing the stuff you gather while working onboard and its a nightmare trying to pack it all into your suitcases.

    Bestest wishes

    Lorraine & Mom

  4. John, If I had enough time available in 2009 I’d be there with you. As it is, I have four sailings booked, all of which are very special.

I’ll be looking for more great promotions like this in the near future…

    Host Mach

  5. John, I’ll be there with you in Europe! See you then!

  6. Hello John, Heidi and The Thingy

Congrat’s to you both on this wonderful news!!!

John now you have two Thingy’s, Thingy 1, the Blog and Thingy 2 the new baby to be, soon to be Thingy 1 as he/she will be taking over your lives.
So now you are the new Dr Seuss with Thingy 1 & Thingy 2. ha ha ;-)

I hope everything goes well for Heidi and the transition back to terra ferma. Also to you on your new adventures with Carnival, look forward to the updates on the Thingy 1.

    Safe journey’s to all.

James from Georgetown, ON, Canada. (John I put Canada as well so don’t worry about it ;-) )

  7. John…

I just caught up on the blog and want to congratulate you and Heidi on your pregnancy.
You must be thrilled. You are definately opening a new chapter in your lives. If May 15th comes and goes without The Thingy being born then my birthday of the 17th would be a good date also.

    Diane

  8. HI John/Heidi:
Hard to believe how quickly time flies as you prepare to leave. I bet you’ve got a lot going on with packing, preparing, etc.
Hope everything else is going well with your family (that includes “Thingy”)….
Your child now has a nickname for life and its only a few weeks old.
Great hearing from you and keep in touch.
    Take care,
    David

  9. Dear John, Heidi & Little Thingy:
Congratulations to you three wonderful people. Apparently I am still having trouble posting so I am trying it once more. Remember John that there are two very important things to remember: If momma is happy – everybody is happy . . .and . . . Whatever Heidi wants . . . Heidi gets.”

I was supposed to be named “John” but things happen and they took the “h” out of it and now I will remain your . . .
    Auntie Joan

    Peace, Love and Joy
