  • Thanks for the videos! Wish I could have been there to see the excitement, but this will do.

  • Good evening John. It looks like you are having a great time in Dallas. Hey my friend, I live in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada and I can’t get down to Dallas. Is there any way that I could win one of those cruises in the penthouse? It’s not fair that for me to get one. Have a beachball extravagantaza here in Amherstburg. What do think? Ciao my friend.

  • John, Stephanie and the Carnival Staff,

Thank you All for the wonderful coverage of the Dallas Beach Ball event. All the videos were FUN to see and the Live Blog was even more FUN. That’s why I always sail the CARNIVAL FUNSHIPS.

  • Hi John/Heidi:
Loving all the videos posted and the Carnival site did a great job with all the videos from yesterday as well.
Thanks for taking the time (Stephanie) to post all of these. It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday.
    Thanks again and take care!

  • What fun we had Sunday. Loved meeting you John and saving your…well – you know what I mean :) -

  • Doah!!! Say it ain’t so!

Carnival Liberty from Miami year ’round???

What’s up with that? Now no Carnival cruises from Europe next year except for a few with Carnival Dream?

Tossing around a giant beach ball in downtown Dallas …..

    Beach baby, beach baby,
    Give me your hand,
Give me somethin’ that I can remember

I would think that a gigantic Beach ball would be sorta memorable. Interesting marketing idea in any case….

I noticed my name wasn’t drawn out of the thingy for the free cruise…..(wasn’t in Dallas physically but I was there vicariously does that count? ) so one can infer I virtually put in my name for the drawing :)

    Hi John,

The videos of Dallas were awesome. Thanks & I’m glad everyone had a great time. Did you feel my spirit there?

I know everyone is voting for the 2009 Bloggers cruise on the Dream in December out of Florida, but my choice (obviously) is the 8-day cruise from NY that I’m booked on in November. I really don’t want to fly and I don’t drive. And, after all, you’re the one that said there is nothing like sailing into NY Harbor, right? So that’s my choice.

    Take care, and happy travels,
    Carol

  • Carnival Dream ?

    Is it still on schedule?

    John Please Reply
John I have a major gripe and although you probably can’t do anything about it I wanted to vent to you and see if maybe you can do something.
We originally booked the freedom TA for 2009. Well Carnival decided not to return the Freedom to the Med so we had to rebook on the Liberty. While doing this we downgrade ourselves to an interior cabin from a balcony so we could include a 12 day Grand Med. For having the first cruise canceled we received a $50 cabin credit and an increase in the fuel supplement. These things happen so I wasn’t extremely upset. But….
Now the Liberty has been canceled and we had to rebook on the Dream, missing the specials offered earlier. Again a $50 cabin credit and again fuel charge increase that wiped out the credit. We had to rebook quickly because there were only 2 cabins left in the catagory we had on the Liberty, not a whole lot of decision time.
You always speak about customer service, so here is my rub. Everyone was very curtious but due to no fault of ours we had to rebook 1) A more expensive cabin 2) At a higher fuel supplement 3) Getting a nonexistant cabin credit.
I think we have gotten some of the buggered shaft. If you can do anything to make this more palatable, I would greatly appreciate it. I know I won’t be the only one in this boat, pun intended. Hopefully the Dream will still be allowed to sail after delivery.

Say Hi! to Heidi and we hope she is getting along in fine shape without you around.

    Sorry for the venting.

  • Howdy John, I see you are in “my” park, Pegs for short LOL. Loved your Texas drawl, you fit right in. I have missed that voice of yours, greeting us good morning, telling us what deck to get off for our excursions, and just telling us whatever you needed to tell us. I am glad you are having a good time. I have been in St. Louis the last four days, so have missed reading your blog. But I am all caught up now.

Looking forward to Jaime’s new entry on the Splendor.

Keep smiling John, my best to Heidi.

  • When will we learn about the Philly event?

    One wonders :)

P.S. The Mrs. found out about the free cruise giveaways.

  • Hello John:

I can see you are having a great time. I just have one question for you and I hope you will answer my inquiry. I read on the Liberty blog for the August 25, 2009 Baltic cruise has been canceled.
I have not heard anything from my TA or from Carnival. Is this so? I am going to be so disappointed if this is the case as we had booked the Freedom and it was canceled. Please reply.
    Trying not to panic yet.
    Marie
