Just trying to find out if there are any activities on board the Carnival ships for single older people. I am taking my grandson on a caribbean cruise in March, and he’ll have the O2 club…but what is there for me
John,
In case it didn’t come across in the chat, thank you for your help.
Melissa
JOHN PLEASE HELP!!
I tried to post a couple of questions during your live blog thingy today but they didn’t ever seem to post.
My question is in regards to the Liberty, we had the Freedom booked, it was cancelled and now the Liberty is gone – bummer. (We sailed with you in the Med on the Freedom last June and loved it!)
We had booked air fare with award seats and have to pay $150 to re-deposit these miles, how do we get this reimbursed by Carnival?
Secondly, we had $200 past guest and $50 rebooking from the Freedom – are these gone now?
We are thinking of re-booking with HA but it seems a bit old for us (we are 38 and traveling with a child 7 and another family with 2 kids this age) so entertainment is a must for us!!
John and Stephanie…
WONDERFUL job on the live chat!!!
I know it must have been difficult for you to field questions from the folks who were upset about the European cancellations but you did a wonderful job of trying to help and smooth ruffled feathers.
Some may say that they won’t come back to Carnival but I’m betting we’ll see ‘em on a Fun Ship before too long.
Thanks so much for taking the time to be there for folks with concerns. That and it was a ton of fun, as well. My Cruise Critic folks were posting on our forum as they were chatting with you and they LOVED IT!
Thanks again…
Ciao!!

Please reply.
I was on the Carnival Freedom in August and loved it. I am taking my grandson on another cruise in March to the Caribbean. He’ll be entertained in the O2 club, but what will there be on board for me? I am a single 62 yr old widow with the spirit of a 42 yr old. I don’t recall anything on the last cruise that was specifically for singles.
Thanks Stephanie for a great afternoon!!!!
LOVED IT!!
Linda

John,
please reply, We will be cruising on the Liberty Nov. 1st and I was wondering if there would be any one on the ship that could print out the blog so that I could read it while on board. That is fine if that is not possible I will just have to catch up when I get back.
Thanks
Hi John and Stephanie,
Will we be able to read a transcript of the live chat?
Catrin
I thought you did a wonderful job in the live chat. You are a very patient man. You did a wonderful thing by giving of your time and knowledge. I will probably never go to Europe so I was lucky that those cancellations didn’t affect me. Thank you for your time and concern today.
YOU ARE THE BEST CD IN THE WORLD!!!
catrin,
You just have to go up to the post above and click on “CLICK HERE”. The full transcript is still there.

Hi John/Stephanie:
Thanks for taking the time to chat with us yesterday. It was great to catch up with everyone.
I agree with Mach that I don’t think this is going to cause too many problems in the end. The only issue I think is trying to “satisfy the masses”.
Looking forward to hearing more from Philly.
Love the new picture at the top of the blog as well.
Thanks for posting!
David
John…..Thanks for taking the time to talk to us. It was great ! Hope you do this again !

John,
I was fortunate enough to cruise on the Splendor on 10/5/08. What a wonderful cruise! I have cruised many times and that cruise was by far my favorite.
There were many highlights for me on that cruise. One of my favorite, was on Deck for the Cure. I was one of the breast cancer survivors and even though it’s been 3 years, it’s was a very moving experience. Thanks to you and Carnival for celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness month.
I understand Carnival’s position on the cancellation of Europe iternary. Hopefully, it will come back in the future. It was such a great way to see Europe.
Carnival was great from the time we landed in Rome until we return to the airport.
I know that was your last cruise on the Splendor. You were missed very much the last day. You were the best.
