  4. That’s what I thought too.

  5. Hi John,

Well, it seems I’m destined not to meet you. I live in the Dallas area & left for the Splendor trans-atlantic the day you arrived in Dallas. Now I find that you arrived back on the Splendor the day I left to come home. I guess we’re “ships passing in the night”.

The trans-atlantic was an absolutely wonderful voyage & I enjoyed it tremendously!!!!! I know you are always looking for ways for Carnival to improve & I have a suggestion. It had been about 1 1/2 years since my last Carnival cruise & in my opinion, previous to this cruise, the food on Carnival had just been “ok” but really nothing special. Well, that all changed in a big way on this Splendor cruise. The food was absolutely brilliant!! No way could it have possibly been better in both the dining room & lido. I don’t know if Carnival has made a fleetwide effort to improve the food quality, but if they haven’t, they need to take lessons from the chefs & galley crew of the Splendor. They are absolutely the very best.

I think I owe you a special thanks for arranging for Marcus Anthony to be onboard for entertainment.
I’m assuming you were responsible since several of your bloggers had requested him for the trans-atlantic earlier in the year & you said you would try to arrange it. He came onboard in St. Maarten & gave a wonderful performance the next night. He also gave a bonus performance on lido deck the last sea day. That was a huge hit & we were one big bunch of happy people.

All good things must come to an end & unfortunately the cruise ended on a sour note. Customs officials were on their very very worst behavior & delayed debarkation for hours. I barely made my flight & I’m sure that many people missed theirs. However, Carnival did their best & were sending representatives to the airport to assist passengers in obtaining new flights.

With the exception of the customs debacle, the only thing that would have made this cruise better would have been having John, Heidi, & “Thingy” Heald onboard.

  6. Hi John
Twelve Glorious days Jeanne and I spent Cruising the Baltic on Splendor.
The service we recieve on our cruise and the way Splendor sparkled all the time was because of her crew.
I loved seeing your video on her.
Wishing I could sail around the horn on her.
    All the best
    Ray Czenszak
