I do not usually make remarks, as I’m type of a webpage lurker, but I believed it deserved a word or two. Gives thanks for discussing.

Very insightful, and beneficial. I have to say that I agree with you about jury duty. I had to serve last July. Somehow, I got stuck on a murder trial that lasted for three days. Then two weeks later a penalty phase to recomend a life sentence or the death penalty. Needless to say, it was not fun. Next time I get a summons, I will book a cruise for that week, and tell the judge that I cannot make it. I am sure they will understand.Til next timeKevin

Hey John,<br

Then I'll come back & start getting ready for the Bloggers Cruise in February!! I'm looking forward to 8 days of relaxation (and a break from grad school). I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday than onboard a Fun Ship.Anyway, glad to hear things are going well with the pregnancy. As a childbirth educator and former labor & delivery nurse I enjoy the updates. Continued well-wishes for you, Heidi & Thingy and have a very Merry Christmas!

Hi John!

I’m officially in ‘cruise mode.’ We sail on the Miracle on Dec. 15 for a nice birthday cruise. In my opinion, some of the problems can be solved by letting the VIP/Platinum guests and anyone else Carnival puts into this catagory, debark first. There would be no need for a VIP self assist, as all of the VIP luggage is in the same holding area. Following that would be self assist and than the rest of the ship.

Getting off of the ship is always an issue. I may not have what your wife has, but everyday is torture getting out of bed in the morning or getting up from my desk after sitting for a long time - and that's only arthritis. I hope things fall into place and go smoothly very soon.Carol

Capt. Bill,

I sincerely wish you and your wife the very best. Are you outside your mind, man? Mine is fairly tame, considering, and Gary still does not venture in there. If you need a 1985 baby tooth, his business cards from over the years, and George the Greek's recipe card for Warm Chocolate Melting Cake...just dive right into my purse. Otherwise: it's No Man's Land.Best wishes to Heidi and Desk, and Stephanie on her recovery.

Not even for the entertainment of the bloggers should you be in Heidi’s purse without her knowldege. It us truly amazing how fast time goes by… it only seems like it was well 10 years ago…ha ha ha (good thing my wife doesn’t read this to often….) actually the truth is we where together for 4 years before we got married.I am sitting here typing to you while on hold with the Unemployment office. It seems that as of last Thursday I became part of the statistics of unemployment. My Boss told me that he could not afford to keep me on through the winter this year like he has over the last 5 years that I have worked for him. This is stressful enough in its self but it is even more stressful because my wife has been out of work on extended sick leave since the middle of October. She has what is called Fibromyaliga Syndrome. She is in a lot of pain all the time and is on so many meds it is hard to keep track of them. She recently (Oct) had something happen that the doctors though might have been a stroke but they can’t find any thing wrong with her Brain… (she had all the signs of a heart attack, but was not having one, but she passed out and when she came too she could not talk properly) she know talks with a stutter and it gets worse when she is tired or in a lot of pain. This is not something you can have when you’re a 911 police and fire dispatcher. So we are seeing more doctors trying to figure out what’s going on. If I can ask that you and your readers keep her in your prayers I would be grateful.Still on hold by the way, it’s now been 41 minutes, wait time is supposed to be 44 minutes we’ll see.As for what I an going to do for work, I am not sure yet, I certainly can’t do what I was hoping to do and go back to sea for 3 to 4 weeks at a time as I need to be home to take care of my wife. I guess I will continue to look for work in the small boat sight seeing cruise market. Which up here in New England is non-existent this time of the year…..Take care John and in case we don’t get to talk before then have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.Your friendCapt Bill

Hey John,

Congrats on the 5th wedding anniversary I had mine back in September of this year.
