Hi John & Heidi, glad things went well for your test!

I also had the pleasure of have Peter (PEETAH) Gibbs as our first CD on the Sensation back in 1998. He was fantastic and very friendly (especially to the single ladies with whom we saw with different ones all week, haha). Hope he is doing well!

My husband Scott and I were actually on the Destiny during 9/11. I will never forget being in Antigua and finding out what happend. It was a very scary time but while we were in Guadalope (my least favorite port) the next day, we got off the ship, saw all the soldiers with guns and turned around and went back on the ship and did our last bridge tour that cruise! It was a wonderful experience that we will never forget as that was probably one of the last ones ever given to the public. That is one of the things I miss from the "old" days of cruising along with the "rum swizzle" parties in the Casino. I remember one night on one of our cruises they had a crepes buffet which was out of this world. Nothing like a little breakfast at night. May be a suggestion even if it's only bacon & eggs!

We will look forward to you upcoming adventures soon!

Can you check something out for me. We are sailing on the Splendor from Buenos Aires February 17. Our cruise ends in Valparaiso Chili March 3. We will take Carnivals transfers to the airport in Santiago. Do we need to get a visa at the airport to exit Chili? I have read different opinions on this. Can you find out.

Thanks,

Jo and Dave

John and Heidi,
Glad the amnio is behind you.
Funny you should mention holding Heidi's hand. When I was in labor with my first child, my ex-husband was holding my hand. He made the horrible mistake of putting his hand too close to my mouth during a major contraction. So while my son was being born, my ex was off having a tetnus shot because I bit down so hard. True story.
I'm sure it will be better for you with all the words of wisdom we are all sharing with you.
See you soon.
Princess Elaine, the quiet and single of Big Ed's Evil Crew

Hello John, Heidi, and Thingy,

We always enjoyed the bridge tours, too. One also sees less and less galley tours offered.

When my brother Bobby went through his divorce in the late 80s, our little brother took him to the local mall to get an updated haircut. ("That 50's hairstyle isn't going to get you any women, bro.") Then little brother went down the hall to play video games. He was kind of shocked by the results. They cut it and spiked it, sort of like Ryan Seacrest's, but a tiny bit longer. My father and little brother thought the new 'do was hilarious. My dad said, "He looked like Norman Bates just got out of the asylum."

See you in 3 weeks and 2 days,
Cheryl D.

Flying….Whilst thrilling in some respects….you soar above the clouds and can be in far away locales fairly lickety-split, you can look down at the earth and marvel at the sheer magnitude and majesty of the world on which we exist….. but then horrible reality sinks in…

You are flying in nothing more than a glorified tube…. with wings attached to it. It is a cramped and overcrowded tube with bad or non-existent service and sometimes reeks of BO of the person next to you. You’ve had to be strip-searched, poked and prodded prior to boarding the tube and had all of your belongings put on display and subject to ridicule…I mean inspected an hour or two prior to your departure. Oh that last word is funny…..

Departure…. If you do manage to depart “on-time” it simply means your tube has been pushed back from the terminal . It doesn’t however mean you will be take off at that point…. That could be an hour or fifteen later. They simply move your tube to the other parking lot next to the runway. They often call this a taxi-way….but most often you are standing still on this surface….and not taxiing anywhere.

Is it any wonder that everyone is clambering …practically hurtling each other to get off the plane when it does arrive at the destination terminal.

Good morning John. I have only ome question to ask you. On this cruise I taking one of the islands I'll be stopping at is St. Thomas. I would like to know the rules before we get on the island. I hear that govenment people get on the ship and they check each person before we can get on the isalnd. Is this true and is it just for American touists or all as I'm a Canadian. How long will it take as I have an excursion at 11:30 and the ship arrives in at 10:00. This is new to me because the other islands I;ve been there you could get off the ship quickly. I would like to know thinga ahead of time and not be surprised when I get there. I appreciate your assistance on this. Thank my friend.
