My imminent hero, John

Firstly I just wanted to thank you, I know you probably get a lot of people dropping by just to say thank you, but it is coming from the bottom of my heart. My cruise on the Valor from the 22nd-1st March around the Caribbean was the best holiday of my 19 year old life. I didn’t know what to expect when coming aboard, I was under the illusion it would be full of old people with their Zimmer-frames fighting over pork chops at the diner and young couples dry humping up on deck in front of everyone. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a large demographic of people on there. And that’s partly why I am writing to you.

I came on the cruise with my sister and you could say that she acted as a make-shift repellant to the girls on there because it appeared to many that she was my girlfriend. There was a number of girls from the ship who I would love to get talking to so I have got someone to share the memories of one of the best times of my life with. And that’s where I was hoping you could help. I saw in a previous message you could check to see how many teenagers were present in a future cruise. Is there any chance whatsoever that you could help me out. I have been scouring Google until my eyes went square trying to find some sign that there was someone else out there who went on the same cruise as me, but I can’t find a thing. Its now crystal clear to me that I have too many regrets that I just can't seem to shake out of my head. So I was hoping that you could work some magic for me just to make my Carnival experience that little more special. I hope I can hear back from you soon as it's been driving me crazy.

Thankyou in advance from a definite future cruiser,

Ste from Liverpool

P.S Good luck with the baby and Thank you again to yourself and the crew onboard the Valor from 22nd February- 1st March

Dear John:
My husband and I are on are way back to Michigan after enjoy a wonderful week on board the Valor with you as our cruise director. You will remember my husband as he played the villian in your bed time story following the talent show. The whole skit was so funny I almost wet my pants laughing. He had a great time. He was stopped several times afterwards by other guest asking "who is your daddy". On our way home someone approached him at a rest area who had been on the same cruise. He loved it. The night of the skit was my 40th birthday. One I will always remember and I have the DVD to prove it. LOL
thank you for making this cruise so personal and such a delight. I will be talking about you and that cruise for years to come!
From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you for a great experience.

John,

You are such a funny man! Thanks for the videos. Keep em coming! Glad Heidi and Thingy are doing well. As for the child (star?), poor kid, I know that kids hate being pushed into singing, playing or performing in any way. If they want to do it that's one thing but you cannot push them. It just makes them bitter and mean. They will rebel !

Thanks Stephanie for the info on the Carnival Party entries. We have been wondering ourselves but now we know when to expect the results. Hope we are one of the winners!

John Please Reply:

My family and I are cruising with friends that have never cruised before on the Caribbean Princess April 5th out of San Juan and recently realized that they are part of the Carnival extended family. Can you tell me how Princess compares to Carnival because I love Carnival and I am hoping we will have at least a similar experience aboard Princess. I know it won't be the same without you as our CD.

Hi John!
I agree with your thoughts on pen writing and music. I'm lucky that my job allows me to both type and write. In addition, in fortunate that my wife is a professional classical bassonist so I hear wonderful music being written and played all the time.
Loved Jaime's letter and pics and I look forward to hearing about her rafting adventure.
Do I get a bobblehead now Sally after my signed suggestion? Thanks for thinking of me. I hope I can get my hands on soon (come on John..hook a buddy up).
One of my earliest cruising memories was playing the piano on the Jubilee during the 1987 Christmas cruise talent show. I was 11 years old and played the full-version of Chariots of Fire. No way I could do that today.
Have a nice day and look forward to hearing from you tomorrow.
Take care!

John:

As someone who played clarinet (and then bass clarinet) in middle school and high school and piano from the age of 11....I know the joy of music and recitals and playing in front of people.

I was so blessed to have a Mom that never pushed me into anything that I did not want to do. She was a very self assured lady who did not need my accomplishments to make up for any "voids" in her life. That poor little girl. Just think, this poor child is stuck with that woman for life. How sad, when a grown adult is so shallow that they have to try to live through their child. What do you want to bet that this poor child has been in beauty contests since she was a baby??

Time for meds....

Dear John - Please Reply,

As Ive told you before I am going on the April 18th sailing of the Glory - This will be my 3rd time on this ship with Butch and the Glory gang in an 8 month time period! I will also be celebrating my 30th birthday on the 19th of that sailing (which by my calculation should be the Captains dinner!). As I have been in such a short time span I have made several friends on the crew and hope they will still be there this time!
Anyway my question is this: Butch has made my last 2 sailings amazing and I would like to bring him a little something - Any suggestions of what he may enjoy? Also do you know his T-shirt size?. There is also a social host (Amy) that is quite amazing and her birthday happens to be a few days after mine - my question here is: What is her shirt size if you can find it? and are they allowed the drink coupons or other gifts from Bon Voyage?
Thanks John,
Erin
