Hi John, Heidi and the Wee Little One:
Hope you have a great Saturday. DJ is watching the weather, since they are predicting storms tonight.
But next weekend….it will be beautiful weather for our Nascar race at Talladega with Countess Carolyn and Don!!!
Btw, the news here in the US is all about a reality show that Ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich is trying to get on. DJ just walked in and asked me… “what’s the name of the reality show” …”It Takes A Thief”?
His jokes of the day continues….
Linda (Mom of your friend ~ ever the comedian~ DJ)
Looking good, not you John, Heidi. I still love that laugh. I hope the gift cards from the bloggers cruise cover all those purchases your making in that store. But of all the sections of the store to make that video. The porto-potty section. Make sure you get the one with the deflector on it because I say the Thing will arrive with a thingy on him.
BIG ED
John & Heidi,
Thnx so much for letting us be a part of your family and sharing. John, even when a simple announcement comes on in a store, you are quick to come up with a comment and make us laugh. That is the reason why you are so good at what you do and we love you. You both look great and truly relaxed. All the best for the next 4 weeks and 100 years after!!!
The Marks’ from Florida
Heidi you look wonderful, and you don’t look to bad either John. Count down has started and your stress has increased. Try not to let it get to you. All will be well. I’m sure that I am not the only blogger who would love to see the nursery either photos or a video. Have a great day off.
Love CruisingGrandma

John, Heidi and Thingy.
It great to see you out enjoying your Saturday! We’ve gotten where we hate to miss your blog. It’s suppose to rain here in Kentucky on Sunday so we spent the day enjoying the 74 degree weather.
36 more days until our Legend cruise!

John, Heidi and Thingy
You all look great. Can’t wait to see pictures of the thingy.
Suzann
Can’t see the video, please advise
John and Heidi, you both look radiant. Heidi you make a beautiful expectant Mother. I hope the wee little one is born on Mother’s day. What a grand Mother’s day gift to not only to you Heidi, but also for both of your Mum’s.
Love to both of you and also the “Heaven Sent” wee little one.
Carolyn and Don
Hi Stepanie. I’ve emailed you and also called, you’re a hard person to catch. Busy, busy, busy,
we appreciate you
Good to see all 3 of you! My best to all of you & tell Thingy to hurry along.
Florence
What a wonderful little video John! Thank you so much for the smiles you give us everyday. Heidi looks just beautiful!
And thank you for allowing us to be part of this very special event in your lives!
John, John, John… I know exactly where you are. I learned much about babies from wandering through a store similar to that when my wife was pregnant. Just remember, whatever you buy now will be the wrong thing when the doctor suggests something for diaper rash etc… and then you will have to go out and buy something else that is even more expensive! You will, however, be happy to spend the money, as it will make the Thingy feel better.
Heidi looks wonderful! We are very excited for both of you.

HI John, Heidi and Thingy,
It is so good to see you 3. You all look GREAT – Heidi is glowing!!
Thanks for sharing your Saturday with us – love the video blogs!!
All my best!!
Debs
Heidi looks wonderful! You look a little frazzled. I suspect you will survive, with Heidi’s help!
Get some sleep while you can!

Hello John and Heidi, I loved your Video, My name is Linda. I wrote in last week but I have no clue some how the e mail was not e mailed to you and it came back. Sooooo here I am writing a second time to tell you how much I enjoy cruising on the Carnival fun ship. On April 23rd I will be on the Carnival Elation going to Ensenada. On May 3rd I will be going back on board on the Carnival SPLENDOR yipee I am counting down the days. I was on the Splendor on March 31st 2009 for only 5 days I went on this cruise solo but had a blast. I make new friends its great that Carnival Cruise Lines makes it so affordable for the average family or for the people that are on a low budget. I am so exited, on the Splendor I will be celebrating my 10th trip that means I get my vip card. I have been talking for months trying to get to this point and here I am I get to try it out I feel like climbing up a mountain and telling everybody about how thrilled I am to have this status. And I will be celebrating my 50th birthday on the ship. ( I am more exited about my vip card ) ha ha. This trip I am travelling with my friend Diane we have our own seperate cabins and we are on the 2nd floor. I was going to ask you would you send her a little something for her on Mothers Day? We will be getting off the ship but her two daughters will be with there dad and step mom I just do not want her to feel sad. Her room # is either 2201 or 2207 her last name is Benson. I will be very sad getting off the ship, I always want to stay on and never get off. I am scheduled in the fall to go on the Miracle, glory, and the Liberty. I am from Edinburgh, Scotland My grandma use to tell us stories from when she sailed the Queen Mary and other wonderful ships now I can relate to what she told us except today with carnival we are all treated equal. I have a wonderful cruise consultant her name is Kristen Thomas I am always bugging her asking questions about new ships she is fantastic. I wanted to thank Carnival for creating magical moments allowing guests to try out for the Carnival Legends. On the Valor I auditioned for Madonna ( I really can not sing but I can dance ) ha ha but it was so exiting to be a part of the show. When I was a child I was extremely shy and I use to stutter my face would turn a bright red when someone would talk to me and here I am singing and dancing to the song Like A Virgin on stage and all my fellow guests and staff loved my performance. I would like to give a quick shout out to cruise director Chris Jefferson and Cruise director Goose on the Carnival Splendor out of the 9 cruise ships they have both impressed me. Thanks guys for doing a wonderful job. John I plan on going on the Carnival Dream next nov 2010 and maybe I can cruise to Hawaii in april 2010. The staff works so hard I justwished I could turn the clocks back 30 years I would want to audition for Carnival I would want to be a carnival dancer. Instead as a guest I still get a chance to get up there and have Fun now I know why carnival is known to be the Fun Ship, that is so true. On the Carnival Splendor Capt claudio Cupisti was so kind and sweet sending me the pink carnival splendor book, A extra bonus I was on the same elevator with him he allowed for me to snap a picture of us together, thank you Captain Cupisti. The Canival splendor dancer and singers are awesome they have so much energy and exitement I loved the shows they were so magical, the lights the colours the music the dancing, costumes, stage, audio I can go on and on. I do call the splendor the pink ship she is spashed all in pink. The food was great on the Splendor I got to take home 4lbs on my body I felt heavier ha ha. I loved the red carpet disco and shannon was our DJ he gets a thumbs up from me. He caters to everbody with out a hassle or a explanation why he can not play your request. John I am all set I have my Carnival pants and Carnival white shirt logo I will be the team leader if nobody else wants to be I am ready I promise to wear my Carnival splendor hat. I have told my friend Diane she is also on the white team and not to forget to pack a white outfit as we will score more points for our team ha ha. It is wonderful on Carnival Cruise lines you can bounce from place to place checking out live entertainment with the shows, comedy shows, Ron the piano player Red carpet disco, hanging out with Michelle at Karaoke hanging out in the Morocco lounge etc etc. I love the carpet at the casino on the splendor. when I grow old I hope I have enough money to cruise in my golden days. I think it would beat a nursing home any day. I want to tell you that I am stuck on Carnival I will only sail with Carnival because it is the Fun Ship. I can go on and on I did not get a chance to tell you first when I was on the Splendor I was thrilled with the young kids and teens they were well behaved and very polite when spoken to. (They were having a lot of fun too)! I am very impressed how hard the staff works, especially if my house keeping guy or girl responds to me by my first or last name they always get a extra tip from me. I had Paul he was on the first floor he did a fantastic job, getting off the ship sitting at the airport I wish I was taking my guy paul the chef and my waiters home with me, instead I paid for a very expensive sandwich at the airport, taste like cardboard and moan that I have to stand in line for it, that is okay when I get off the ship Diane and I can reflect about our great time and ready to plan our next cruise. I hope I did not put you to sleep John ha ha. Oh by the way here in America when my two sons were babys I used Balmex. Its a diaper cream, would you like for me to send you a jar? Not long to go I hope you do another video soon, I will be chatting with you soon. Thanks to Carnival for doing a great job and building more new ships fpr us especially in our bad economic time. Sincerely Linda
How great it is to see you John and Heidi! You both look terrific and Heidi is glowing! Love your hair like that! ( both of you!) John I hope your baby has your dimples!
Also happy to hear that Heidi is still laughing at all your jokes. That’s a good sign.
Wishing you two all the best!!!
Will you be the CD on the Freedom in October? My hubby and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on Oct 6 and I’m trying to talk him into going on his first ever cruise. I’ve been on 5 Carnival cruises with friends and would love to have hubby come along on this one.
Thanks and all the best to you, Heidi and the thingy.

John,
Thank you for sharing your life, and that of your lovely wife and child. I know that this is not an easy thing for a “Brit,” as you value your privacy highly. But please know that we appreciate the extra patience with which you grace us “Yanks.”
John, I was pleased a few weeks ago to become acquainted not only with Mark Price aboard Carnival Pride out of Long Beach, CA, but also with his lovely wife Lenka, who was my karaoke hostess for 6 of the 7 nights of the cruise. Both are extremely talented and genteel individuals, and while I will be sad to see them leave, I just as fervently believe that they will experience success in whatever endeavors they pursue. I shall ever treasure the photos I have of Mark rushing around on stage in his Union Jack boxers after the Legends show, when his pants were allegedly hidden from him. And his hypnosis show was the first time I had ever seen such an act up close. Amazing what people will do to put out a fire in their butt!
By the way – Susan Boyle IS, and MUST forever be, Godmother of the Carnival Dream.
Much love to Heidi and Thingy, and of course to you, John.
proud to be your friends,
Rus & Nina from Glendale, AZ
John,
Tried to get the latest video blog to open and play and it does not work for us.
Dave & Jo
Hi John, Heidi, and Thingy!
Hope you had a wonderful time shopping yesterday. Heidi , you look beautiful!
Just four more weeks…so happy that John is there with you for the big event! I know he wouldn’t be anywhere else….can’t wait to see the pics of the two of you holding your Thingy!
cruzn
Thanks for the surprise video of the 3 of you! Shopping for baby is fun. Have a wonderful weekend!
John and Heidi,
Funny video! Love the department you filmed in. I wonder if John made some personal purchases….Heidi, Thingy kicking is a GOOD thing, and you look wonderful. As for John…well, he looks like John! Happy weekend!
Heidi looks awesome!!
I’m making a prediction… the Thingy will be a boy…. How about a little comp between the bloggers…. guess the date, weight and sex of the Thingy!!! I think that would be fun!
Thanks for the video… it’s great to see you guys!
John, Heidi, And Wee little Thingy,
you all look wonderful. The Thingy looks like a boy, by the way Heidi is carrying the baby. I know it is a 50/50 chance so I along with everyone else here await S/He ‘s arrival. Heidi you are absolutely glowing. Pregnancy has suited you well. Thingy looks like H/She is sitting lower…getting ready to be born.
You simply must ensure that Susan Boyle is the Godmother of the Dream. Fantastic! Wonderful, such a Angelic voice.
Balcony smoking…I am not sure that it is a good idea to allow it…but I know people will do it anyways, so I guess there is really nothing to be done, unless the whole ship is non- smoking.
Thank You Carnival for addressing the Lido dress issue. It makes sense to cover up when going into a restaurant…and Lido is a restaurant among many other things.
Fruit punch…I agree with another poster, there is a colorless fruit punch available and that would make the kids happy and Carnival’s carpets too!
Cuba: I am not sure how I feel about Cuba. I think if it was offered on an itenerary that I was currently on, I would indeed step off of the ship on to land that I have always been forbidden to go to and visit.
I thought of another name for Thingy: Ashton Bentley Heald.
Take care of Heidi and Thingy.
Hugs to you all, Julie
Oh Yah…forgot to say that I love the idea of a burrito bar on the ships. Like Host Mach, the burrito ingrediants will likely rocket propel both hubby and I …but we love Mexican food!
Hi, John, same as some other bloggers, we tried to get the latest video blog to open and play & it doesn’t work for us. Have no idea why! I’t a shame because we would have loved to see the 3 of you on it! We’ll keep trying.
John… we are 6 days away from the Liberty! We are so anxious that yesterday we booked an 8-day cruise on the Freedom! We’ve cruised on both ships before, but these are different itineraries. Talk about being hooked on cruising! These are our Carnival cruises #’s 6 & 7 in about 2 yrs…. & we’re not counting the 1/3/09 Cunard QM2 or the 2 European back-to-back cruises on one “of the Seas” last Oct.Nov.! This is crazy but a lot of fun! Right, cruise lovers? We can hear a big YES! We did lots of cruising 25-30 yrs. ago when we relocated from St. Louis to Miami Beach… We stopped… & in Oct.’07 we got hooked again when we went on a 5-day cruise on the Fascination. The rest is history!
Pls. don’t forget to keep pushing for the marvelous Susan Boyle to sing & maybe even being the godmother at the Dream’s naming ceremony…Wonderful P.R. job for Carnival & wonderful experience for Ms. Boyle!
Hasta la vista! Good luck to the family! Congratulations again on the soon-to-be-born Heald’s baby!
The Santanas from Miami Beach
John and Heidi,
You both look great. Enjoy your time together. How long did it take you to find the baby potty section? Heehee.
KathyG
Hi John!
In January, 1998, my husband and I honeymooned on the Imagination. Were you the cruise director on there? You look familiar and I am pretty sure it was you! We have cruised on Disney twice with our kids and each time my husband and I have commented that they don’t have cruise directors like the Carnival one from our honeymoon and how he really made our cruise!
We are returning to the Carnival Valor for a Thanksgiving cruise with my family – there will be 15 of us and we are very excited! I am impressed by Carnival in every step of our planning so far!
Good luck with fatherhood – it will be the greatest adventure of your life!
Kate
Hi John, Heidi, and the Thingy,
Great video. You are all looking
marvelous ( you too John). Thanks for the quick view into the baby store. I love when you three send us videos from home. My best to you,
Mary
Hi John, Heidi and Thingy: Great video, Mike and I both enjoyed it. WOW! Heidi sure is getting BIG. You both look great! Can’t wait to meet the baby on video! Are you really going back to work in early June? Certainly you will spend some time with Heidi and your new baby. Don’t rush it, don’t Carnival employees get maternity leave and leave after the birth? In the states even men can take advantage of that! Enjoy your time at home with your family! You deserve it! What will you be doing when you do go back to work? It would be so nice if Heidi and the baby could join you on the Carnival Dream, I wish you were gonna be there for our cruise on 12/26. I am really looking forward to spending New Years Eve on a cruise! Can’t wait! AND we are really looking forward to seeing the refurb on the Imagination, we leave for a short 4 day cruise to Key West and Cozumel on 6/1/09. THREE cruises this year! WOO HOO! Wish we could go once a month! Since January was so far from December we HAD to plan another one mid year, we were getting cruise fever. That’s what we get for hanging around with Empress Bee and Sarge! HA! HA! Anyway, thanks for the video, it was great. Heidi looks great and so do you John! Happy Sunday to you both! Ciao, Linda & Mike
Jamie,
I will make sure to hook up with you! We always brought our son food from home-cavetelli’s, cookies, etc. Is there anything you would like??? I am an Italian mom and I know he got good food on the ship but I always had to make sure he got something from home. We are driving to Baltimore so everything will be intact when we arrive. Now, I did not attach our credit card to his sign and sail card but we took him to the Supper Club and of course took him on any excursions he was able to make. But of course I paid for the credit card his sign and sail was attached to anyways. You can email me at karenfrye47@yahoo.com.
John,
Thanks for the reply and for allowing us to be a part of the birth of your child. Just think how many grandparents, aunts and uncles Thingy has. Hope they are all around when it is time to pay for college.
To Mark,
Good luck to you. May you prosper in whatever path you take when you leave Carnival.
Karen
Hello John, Heidi & Baby Thingy!
Great to see the video of you three. John, it sounds like you are keeping them laughing. That’s good! Seriously, you all look great and we appreciate the video blogs as well as the written ones. We love seeing you!
Mike & Lori
Ah John and Heidi, loved that you paid us a video visit. Heidi you look so good, four more week YEA. It does not look like you have hardly gained any weight.
You always make me laugh but even more when I can hear you. The two of you are going to be amazing parents. That baby is so lucky. Humor will get you through a lot
Keep smiling John, you are one of the good guys.
John, please reply:
We have been watching the CNN TV News coverage of the USA/Latin American Conference in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, for 3-4 days now & apparently the main bldg. where they are holding this conference is next to the port…. Guess what! There has been a Carnival Ship shown on the background all this time! Free publicity for Carnival! The CNN Reporters are right up front doing their thing & right smack on the background we have been watching the Carnival ship with is distinctive Red/White/Blue logo on the chimney! Which cruiseship is the one visiting Port-of-Spain? We have looked high & low on Carnival.com for that info & was unable to get the name. Please advise.
The Santanas of Miami Beach
Lovely, lovely, lovely. A fantastic video John, Heidi and the bump Thingy. What a great situation. You two just look great in a family way and Heidi, you look glowing. Enjoy my friends.
Paul & Marylou Pietrangelo
Hi John, Heidi, & Baby Heald,
It’s me, PennyB from New Orleans.
I loved the video of you and the family doing some weekend shopping. Heidi looked lovely – actually blooming and there you were in the “potty” section checking out all the goods. Yes, if it is a boy, be prepared for some quick actions with the cover ups. I’m sure you will get caught! Next time I see ya’ll (as we say in the South), I will bring some Boudreaux’s Butt Paste for baby’s buns or, if you like ,John, you may also give it a try. It is a favorite around here. My daughter is a ped. nurse in Alabama and they even use it at her hospital. I’ll be on the FL Dream cruise 12/3/09 with several others who were with us on the Fantasy.
Sweet Dream!
PennyB
Hi John & Heidi,
I finally got to watch the video! Tried most of the day and then poof there it was. Heidi you look smashing…I was a blimp when I had 4 weeks to go with my first, didn’t do that with my second lol. Thanks for the update and it is so much fun for us americans to see a UK store! I always head for the local grocery in ports when I can, usually an eye opening experience! Makes me thankful for the USA, but makes hubby crazy…half the fun.
Jan in Michigan
Dear Jon, Heidi & Baby 2 Be

We hope to see you this summer on the Freedom….. Dana
John, please reply
First of all, Heidi you look wonderful. Thank you for letting us all be a part of this wonderful event in yours and Johns life.
John, I wanted to let you know although I am sure you already do know, what a wonderful group of vacation specialists Carnival has put together. I recently booked myself on the Dream, the initial one from Port Canaveral. I had been thinking about doing this for some time and finally did. By the way, my family thinks I am crazy wanting to cruise by myself but I love cruising and I love Carnival and I know that I will meet people aboard the ship so I dont worry about it. The vacation specialist I had been working with became very rude when I booked the cruise. I called and told a supervisor who was very apologetic and told me that they would get me reassigned to another specialist. I really had just wanted them to know as i wasnt really worried about it. Several hours later I received a call from another specialist named Cindy Fallon, who couldnt have been any sweeter. She apologized for the way I had been spoken to by my previous specialist and immediately went to make sure my booking was just the way I had wanted it. She has totally bent over backwards to make sure I am happy. Because of this, I will continue to cruise on Carnival and look forward to many good cruises to come (this will be my fourth Carnival cruise and the third different Carnival ship I have been on). I wanted to know if there was any way to let Cindys supervisor know via an email maybe how wonderful she has been?
Thanks.
Jen
Hi John,Heidi and Thingy….

Mark Amanda and Catie(who just had her 10th birthday)
Hi John, Heidi, & the little one,
Heidi, you look wonderful. John, get used to shopping in the store – A LOT.
I don’t know if you saw this or not, but during President Obama’s trip to Trinidad, everytime the news reports were being filmed, there was a Carnival Ship & a Princess Ship in the background. I don’t know what ship it was – Destiny/Conquest class – or why they were thee, unless to provide accommodations for the people attending the conference. But it was great to see the ship.
Catch ya later,
Carol
John/Heidi
Thank you so much for sharing that video with us bloggers. You both look well and relaxed, Heidi for you the words “radiant” come to mind (sorry John nothing for you….) By the way “Sudocream” is an excellent item to have in the Nursery and diaper bag, it is a VERY essential thing and is one of the better products out on the market.
Wish we had a Mothercare Superstore when I had Danielle!!! I actually shopped for some stuff there and brought it to Canada when I was pregnant, their stuff used to be very good quality, and I’m sure still is.
Take care of yourself Heidi and get as much rest as you can because you will soon get to join “The Sleepless Nights Club”. John look after them both and we look forward to your constant update on how everyone is doing.
Eva and Harold
Thanks so much for the video. Heidi, your giggles are priceless. Hope you had a grand time shopping. Do you have everything you need yet?
Hugs,
Princess Lori
aka Catmama
Just a note to Carol S. :
The ship was Carnival Victory. And yes, it had been chartered for the event.
Linda
Hi John,
Once again I am playing catch up with your blogs. Life is just to fast paced for me. I guess I need another cruise, so I can relax! LOL A Cruise a month would suit me just fine!
I wanted to comment on the smoking issues. I really don’t appreciate (since I have health issues) smelling smoke in my state room coming from rooms on either side of mine or coming in from the balcony when I try to relax on mine. Maybe smoking in rooms and/or on balconies should be restricted to one side of the ship. Actually, I don’t think smoking in rooms should be allowed at all. For obvious reasons…. if a candle or heating units (coffee pot, etc) is not allowed, because they could start a fire it seems to me a cigarette, pipe, etc. could as well. Perhaps even easier as it could be dropped on the carpet or bed.
Also, I love the idea of getting Susan Boyle to sing at the naming ceremony. She has a wonderful voice. Not to mention her wit, she would be perfect! I hope Carnival can make it happen!
Looks like you and Heidi are just about ready for the Wee Thingy’s appearance. Just bear with her as she cleans everything in sight, this is a good sign, everything is going along as it should. Once that beautiful little person arrives you being the bastard for the last couple of weeks won’t bother you a bit. It will all be in the past. Heidi looks wonderful! What a beautiful family the 3 of you are!
Take care and Hugs to all 3 of you!
Auntie Princess Barb
PS…. Carl and I are going to meet our new little Grandbaby soon. It will arrive on the 29th of April!!!
Hi John, Heidi and Thingy,
I loved the video blog, and Heidi you look wonderful! Thank you both for taking time out of Saturday to share some of your day with us!
All the best,

I have tried to up load you a short missive on Cuba, smoking and things to do in Tampa but have not seen posted.
Could you please explain why a post may not post?
I did in fact take great effort in writing that note (which is saved in Word) so I could re-send it if there is a problem.
Thanks,
Bruce and Debbie
Thanks so much for letting us share in your ‘family way.’ It is great seeing Heidi again and hearing her voice, and of course, seeing the baby bump. We all look forward to a safe delivery.

Loved the video blog. I sure hope you can find some Udder Butter in your mom’s superstore. This has to be the most aptly named product on the market and I’m sure you’ll find a way to introduce the name into your on-stage routine. Speaking of which, we are looking forward to joining you on the Freedom, June 14-20.
Can you tell me if Lewis Nixon will be onboard? I went to high school with him back in FL and enjoyed his comedy on the Fascination back on December 07.
My wife and I and our three sons (21, 19, 1nd 13) will be on board and looking forward to a great trip – especially knowing you’ll be there. If you need to catch up on your sleep after the little one arrives, we’ll hide you in one of our cabins for a quick nap.
