John (please reply), I have very much enjoyed your blog thingy over the last month or so. Your daughter and wife are beautiful. Kye's pictures are wonderful. I wanted to thank you also for calling DJ on his birthday. I am sure that gesture was awesome. My husband and I are looking forward to sailing with you on the Dream Dec. 3rd. Until then we are taking our daughter, Alexandra, on the Inspiration July 27th. It seems like only yesterday Alex started kindergarten and now is ready to begin her senior year in college. Thanks again for all you do big things small things and all in between. Glenda Kessell

What is your beef with Silversea? Why call them Silverpee? Isn't that a bit immature? Should Seabourn be called Peebourn? or you can't as its a Carnival brand.

John,
I've just started reading your blog thingy, all the way from the beginning. I read several old ones and the latest one every day. One day I'll be all caught up.
Today is an exciting day for hubby and me, we are now officially in single digits until our next cruise on the July 18th sailing or the Holiday. The Holiday was our first cruise back in 1995 for our 25th anniversary, and we've been hooked on cruising ever since. So, we will sail the ole gal one last time before she is sold, this time sailing on our 39th anniversary.
Please keep up the blog thingy and I hope one day to sail on a ship with you as the CD. Give my best to Heidi and your beautiful daughter, Kye.

John--I agree, Dexter is the best show--no one would ever think they could feel sympathy with a serial killer, but he is such a good actor he manages to pull it off. However, I have a question about the dreams (and I am not inserting one of my trademark cracks here)--are you on any sort of new medication? Reason I ask is that I was placed on a new medication a number of months ago; it took some time but I began to have the worst, creepiest, and longest seeming nightmares I have ever had. Turns out it was one of the lesser side effects of the medication, and needless to say, I am no longer on it. Something to think about. PS We need a new picture of Kye.

Hi John, (please reply)

What wonderful advice you gave to first time cruisers Mike & Brian( what a coincidence, my two brothers names!) As far as all those who always have something to complain about, why do they even bother to cruise? nicer then you they donot come, not to mention so obliging! too bad you don't have one of those trap doors near the Info desk, all it would take would be a tap of a button, and they would be midnight Buffet, ha! ha! John you mentioned future plans for Heidi & Kye, joining you, would it be possible for the Dec 3rd, 9 day Bloggers cruise you were thinking about? what a thrill that would be for my Mother and myself, not to mention for you! Love to Heidi & Kye! Michele & Eleanor ( Mom)

I just read that Carnival has introduced a self service cruise check-in kiosk in Miami. GREAT IDEA, I always use the airport self check-in and if this works as well it will be great!

John, don't you realize the 8 people who did not give you kudo's on their comment cards were the family of that man who didn't want Independence day to be celebrated on the ship! Stop eating before you go to sleep, that's why you are having nightmares. Tell Heidi we want a video of KYE! Linda & Mike

Mr. S.Nob sounds just like Ms. S.Nob, the woman that was on the Splendor last August. She was just has bad, wonder if they are related ;)

I am not surprised that you got a high rating, but it should have been higher. I gave you a high rating too, but then you deserved it. I knew our cruise would be fantastic, but with you as our CD you made it even more special.

Keep smiling John, you truly are one of the good guys.

My best to Heidi and Kye.

Hi John
(Please reply )
Just started reading your blog and can’t stop laughing. First off congrats on your new addition and hope all is well with everyone.
We were on the legend in April for a chartered cruise to the western Caribbean and fell in love with Carnival it’s staff and the ports we visited, we have cruised with Disney prior and must say found all the crew we encountered on the legend for that cruise fantastic and if not at par above the Disney standard . So that saying that we have decided to take our children ( 8 & 10) on the valor with us Sept 6th (shhh it’s a surprise) visiting the same ports as we did in April ( hopefully visiting Cozumel this time). As our cruise was an adult only cruise, we are a little concerned about the kids being bored. We know about camp carnival but we also realize that this is the time frame that kids go back to school. Guess our question is. During this time frame does carnival still have its fair share of family’s cruising with them and if not does camp carnival reduce the amount of activities for the children that are on board? Also are children allowed in any of the clubs on board as we would love to have the chance dancing with them.
we can’t wait to sail with carnival again..
Be safe and be well and all the best to you and your family
