Especially since I was on that cruise as well. It's neat to hear the "story behind the story." I thought the whole itinerary change was handled very well, with your emphasis on SAFETY at the beginning of every message. Although, had I known you were standing there talking in your undies, I would've cracked up!!!!After your first "going to Cozumel/Grand Cayman" announcement, I happened to walk past the Guest Service desk where someone was becoming very vocal about their dissatisfaction. Apparently they thought that GC/Coz/Jamaica were not "upscale" enough in accordance with the price they paid for the cruise. Huh? I wanted to butt into the conversation (they were talking to one of the officers stationed in front of the desk) and ask if they had taken a moment to consider that there were FAR WORSE alternatives: like heading to Savannah, or Newport, or NYC. Not that those are bad places to go. Just not ideal for a Caribbean vacation. You know?Anyway--I didn't butt in. And, it didn't matter so much, because as you shared, we reverted back to our original route. Funny post! Especially since I was on that cruise as well. Maybe it's because I was born & raised in Florida, but I always have a hard time understanding why people who sail the Caribbean in the late summer months, like August, do so with such high expectations for the weather! Do they not ever read newspapers or the net?Are they so oblivious to what happens to all us southerners (& sometimes the easterners) every single year around this time? Have they never heard of Andrew, Katrina, Camille, Opal - just to name a few of the most destructive disasters of all time? There IS a reason the cruises offered during the months of August & September are so reasonable - and it's NOT because the kids are going back to school! Hurricanes, I'm sorry to say, are Mother Nature's way of cooling the earth and until some genius figures out a way to control them - there is no way to get around their fury and I, for one, would never want to tangle with one out in open water - regardless of what size ship I was on! I've had the misfortune to go through about 35 of these monsters in my lifetime - they are a way of life where we live. We have booked the French Beach Break in St. Martine. I know that the beaches are " European Style" and that there may be some nudity. My question is this, How often are people nude? I can just imagine some of the comments from my three year old! Especially if the people are old and French! We are really looking forward to this vacation. You were our cruise director back in 2005 when we took this cruise originally. A couple that lives in Missourri that we met while on that cruise and have kept in touch with will be joining us! Great vacation, great friends and naked French people! We are going to have GREAT time!!!!! Kye is very beautiful. Spend as much time as you can snuggling her. First time posting on your blog but I’ve been reading it avidly in preparation for our Sep 2nd sailing on the Carnival Spirit (cabin #1201)!

This will be my wife and my second sailing on Carnival (our first was on the Conquest for our honeymoon). On our first cruise we didn’t try out the supper club but this time I’m thinking that I will surprise my wife with a trip there for her birthday (which happens to fall right in the middle of the cruise). I was wondering, in the supper club, do they have Maine lobsters? When we were on the conquest my wife was not overly thrilled with the lobster tails in the dining room on formal night (I think those were Caribbean lobster tails or some-such-thing). Lobster is her favorite and I’m hoping that supper club would have Maine lobster tails.
