I am wondering old friend if you could help me with an answer to a question. John and I are sailing on the Freedom (missed you again) on
Oct 18th, 2009. We of course are Platinum, and are sailing on the Lido deck. I tried to get them to put on the record a request for dinner (late seating) for a table for two for John and I. The person taking the reservation refused, and said it's not possible. In the past, I have always been able to do that, and my request has always been granted. I don't really want to have to go stand on line to see Manuel (I think he's the maitre'd on the Freedom) to make the change, when I could be enjoying my time in a much better way. Is there a way to have it requested in advance. I would appreciate any pointers you may have, on whom I might be able to call ahead from now to have it taken care of. Thanks in advance.By the way, I have written you here three other times, but for some reason have never seen my post, yet I have seen the same names over and over again? Is it something I said, lol...or don't they like Greeks from New Jersey, lol. In the past three I have also commented on how gorgeous Kye is and how I miss sailing with you and Heidi. I tried to find out where you'd be before I booked the Freedom, but by time I did, it was already booked. I miss you old friend. Stay well...and please reply this time before I get a complex, lol.

We are here in San Juan on the beautiful Carnival Liberty today. Our Past Guest party is in a little while and we found out there won't be any pins for us even though we are Platinum. We were told they just don't have any. Is this going to be changed on future sailings? This is our first time on the Carnival Liberty so we are going to be missing them but there could be a little hope since we talked with Butch about them. Butch is great as usual. George came in second in the Master Mixologist competition. We thought we had it made with Butch's Beach Blast as the name but of course Butch was not a judge. It was fun anyway and George was surprised he did that well.If you're doing a special Platinum get together please make it during lunch. Breakfast will not work.Enjoy your trip to Holland. Kye will be a world traveler soon.George and Linda

Hi John,

I’m just catching up on your blogs but haven’t gotten to the questions yet. Hi John,
Great blog, as always!
I read somewhere (sorry I can't quote it because I don't remember exactly where) that another cruise line sometimes offers a 1/2 price deposit sale. I think this is a great idea and something Carnival should look into. Full deposits can be quite costly sometimes. Many people book their cruises way in advance so that they can save up for it or pay it off. The opportunity to book a cruise with 1/2 of the deposit required up front might be helpful and a great incentive for cruisers who need a little time to get the cruise paid off. What do you think about this idea?

John please respond!<br

It would be wonderful to be able to go through the photos digitally and to print what you wanted in the sizes that you wanted. Also, instead of calling it a ManCave maybe we could call it the A.S.U. Hideout (Anti Shoppers United). Hey Big Ed, can I hang there with you and John and send my daughter off with Pat and Heidi?BELC

My wife and I are Milestone level cruisers and just returned from our first cruise on the Carnival Splendor. For the record we prefer the Spirit class ships and the way they are laid out but we did have a great time even though we were chased around by Hurricane Jimena.
The main reason for this post is to tell you that I took the "Behind the Fun" tour and it exceeded my expectations at every level!! We were shown so much more then is advertised and at every stop we were met by a senior person to explain what we were seeing and to answer our questions.
Our tour was led by Corporate Trainer Julie Masse, who was to use your term "Brilliant!" She is smart, energetic and just full of good information. Though I thanked her at the end of the tour and mentioned her on my comment card I would be pleased if you would let her boss know what an excellent job she did showing us what goes on behind the "crew only" door.
Finally, Captain Pagano was most gracious and an absolute gentleman.
The tour gets my highest recommendation to other members of your blog family!
Regards,
Roger

John<br
