I have to admit that I don’t feel very well today. I am having a bad diabetic day. My sugar levels are normal but I feel tired and have the same amount of energy as a dead squirrel.
Anyone who has diabetes will tell you there are days like these. I am not sure why. I have eaten healthy food and yet I feel listless, have hot and cold sweats and just want to crawl under the duvet, fart gently………and go to sleep.
I know that this is will pass and there will be other days like it. I don’t mind the headache or aching joints but not having the energy I usually have makes me very pissed off and quite emotional. Oh well. I hope I am feeling better by tomorrow as I am due to collect one of our director’s and my friend Chris Prideaux from Heathrow Airport tomorrow morning as we are due to fly to your Carnival Dream together.

It feels like I haven’t written to you in ages. Maybe it’s because I was a head of myself last week finishing blogs the day before they were posted in order not to miss any because of my traveling to Holland…………but any way………I hope I find you all well, happy and non-constipated.
I’m writing this in my underpants and feeling 100 years old. While I was disembarking the ferry which returned us from Holland to the UK, I was holding Kye and also lugging a suitcase I did my back in and am now in a permanent crouch as if sitting on an imaginary toilet.

You may have read in yesterdays Q and A section of the blog thingy that a blogger was asking about Skype and its availability on the ships. As I mentioned it is not normally available due to something called “bandwidth” people with beards tell me that reception is more up and down than Paris Hilton’s knickers.
And that’s a shame because it would be just perfect for me if Heidi and I could talk via video phone and I could look at Kye and Kye could look at me going “fluba luba poo poo nicky nacky noo noo” ………….yes……….I now speak fluent baby.

We just returned from our first Carnival trip on the Paradise and while we had a good time I do have one or two comments. The first is that we did not appreciate the loud over the top decor and much prefer the more subtle colors and designs found on Royal Caribbean. The second point may sound trivial but why does your shops on the ship not sell chewing gum. I am a dentist and so is my wife and all our family are constant chewers of gum. It isn’t digestible and it doesn’t promote decay. It does two things. First, it mechanically cleans the surfaces of your teeth as you chew. Second, and possibly the most beneficial, it promotes the flow of saliva. Here’s why that is good:

And so here we are in Holland and before I start today can someone please explain to me why the Amsterdam Intercontinental Hotel needs to know Heidi’s and my date of birth, occupation and our combined household income…….do they need to know this before Ingrid the hotel maid steward changed the bed sheets and poured bleach into the toilet to remove the remains of dinner that were doing their Klingon impression?

I bonded with a mate of mine yesterday over the raspberry, which praise be to God has full signal once again. The bonding took place between me and a pal because while he was in Italy and I was in the UK we were both in fact in hell……………because both of us were shopping …………with our wives…………….and both of us would rather have sawdust pumped into the crack of our bottoms than go shopping……….we would both prefer to French kiss Judge Judy after she has eaten seven cloves of garlic than parade through the mall……….both of us would rather blow torch our nipples off and nail them to a climbing wall then shop……..yep…….we both hate it.

Tomorrow night we are going to a dinner party………………………..bugger.
I have never understood dinner parties…………I know I hate them……………but also ….I just don’t see the point of them. You get dressed up to eat in your own home and you lay the table with things you would never use if it were just the two of you.
