We have only been on Carnival for a short five day cruise and that was on the Holiday. Wife is concerned about the atmosphere on board and believes it will be nothing but neon and young loud obnouxious drinkers and she will not have any quality quiet time. She already has talked herself out of a good time. What can I tell her to make her feel better and that the trip will be fantastic

Wife and I have been on 14 cruises and will be on the Legend the week of Dec 6. I greatly appreciate your honoring those service men and women especially the newly-weds. My family and I always love when servicemembers are honored, weither we know them or not. I also appreciate the situation you are in, as working in the hospitality industry can sometimes be hard with difficult guests. We can only hope that that couple one day realizes where they are wrong. I hope that they learn the distinction between the servicemembers and the war, and that they find some way to show their support.By the way, I'll soon be emailing you a personal letter regarding the cruise my husband and I will soon be taking, as I have been inspiered by the letters others have submitted to you, I hope that is ok. You are just so amazing and I think you will appreciate hearing our story.Thank you for being so amazing!Jenn

Dear John,

I am a military wife and I wanted to add my voice to the many present about this subject. Can't say much for the soldier thing...my husband is/was a United States Marine. Anyway, I am asking that yourself or someone on the "care" staff get in touch with me regarding a guest who sailed last month. I don't know if anyone at Carnival can help be he had an awful time with the company Carnival uses to supply wheelchairs an oxygen while onboard. Anyway, it has nothing to do with the way Carnival handled anything. Just thought maybe you could have someone contact us to discuss the issue. Keep up the great blog! We love reading it whenever we get a chance.

Hi John,

As a travel agent I read your blog as much as I can and I try to put myself in your shoes. However, the limit on tobacco brought into the EU will not increase. "regardsChristian

Hi John,

For your information: Europe recently increased the Duty Free Allowance for imported goods:

“Monetary values of travelers’ goods can now be up to €430, which was only €175 . You did the right thing by honoring our men and women in the Services. That Guest should have been made to walk the plank !
When we were on the "Something of the Seas" in June, a British ship docked along side while in Tallin, Estonia. We were about ready to sail out when an annoucement came on the P.A telling us about the Brits along side so we all went out on deck, waved to the "boys" with their very cute "Jump Jet" on deck and I think "Rule Britania" was played as well left...I have this on video. It was great ! I froze my Royal Caribbean off waving and yelling !!
My husband was in the Air Force and my dad was a Marine !
