Dear John,

Thank you so very much for your continued support of the Armed Forces, as well as for your wonderful idea of hosting a ball-like event for the Marines on the Dream. I'm sure the gentlman you spoke with mentioned it, but Marines (and in my case their wives :) ) are very proud of the Corps and very much enjoy the celebration of its birth! I am so proud of my husband and what he does for the country, and I am so happy and lucky and blessed to be a part of the Marine family as a wife.

Thank you for all you do, and as they say in the Corps, Semper Fi! and Ooorah!

Beautiful photos on this blog.
I remember that crossing of the Liberty as we were on her a couple of weeks earlier. We enjoyed our Grand Med cruise aboard her and have fond memories of sailing into Venice. Too bad that "bug"-ger" came onboard in Rome ...oh yeah, and the virus too !

Oh my! I have been back from my cruise for 5 days now. It was on the Carnival Elation Nov. 2-6 from San Diego to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. I have put off writing you because frankly, words fail! I'm so grateful for the extra attention you gave me. It was such an unexpected surprise and BIG treat. I wish I had taken a picture of the VIP boarding pass. It was in my hands for such a short amount of time! But I loved it! And the priority debarking, and being called on stage and being presented with a Bottle of Champagne and a Gift Certificate for 25% off a shore excursion. The CD was great, and the blog was plugged. I will write more about the great experience the cruise was, but wanted to let you know your efforts were much appreciated. I'm not sure what I did to deserve the VIP treatment. It can't be reading the blog, I get a great deal of entertainment from your blog thingy. I would understand if you don't print this. The Cruise Critic folks will be expecting similar perks (maybe demanding in some cases). Review soon (ALL Good!)
Thanks again,
Peggy Taylor

John,

I read your story about the jerk who complained about the cruise in BDA. I must say, you must get it from both barrels frequently! How do you do it? You must have the patience of Job...I really admire you for this. You're the reason many of us will come back to Carnival...and skip the "Shopping Mall of the Seas".

Cheers!

Hello John

Well I'm back from my volunteer stint in Africa and all I can say is that it was the most rewarding experience in my life. The organization I went to was called Give a Heart to Africa and unlike other organizations which help children, this one targets adults who require education just as much. It was great teaching individuals who really wanted to learn and better their lot in life.

Now that I'm back I've started thinking cruises again... I'm surprising Harold with a family cruise for his 70th. His children are coming from England, his sister from Malta and he is totally unaware of all this. He thinks the two of us are taking a Western Caribbean cruise on the Valor January 17th. We are going to be six in total and he is going to be so surprised by having all the children (adults) there. Could you let me know who the cruise director is going to be for that voyage? Also do you have any suggestions for tours in Cozumel, Belize and Isla Roatan? I'm afraid except for Danielle, who I am sure will take anything that involves scuba diving, the rest of us will need to have something more sedate and maybe cultural. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help in all this. Hopefully we'll take the Dream as our next ship, it sounds fabulous. Take care and best wishes to you, Heidi and baby Kye.

Hi John

We sailed with you a few years ago, my kids still love to watch your opening skit. (help me! help me! Save me! Save me!)
Our family loves to sail (platium on CCL, Princess & Disney) I am very happy that CCL Dream is restricting smoking more and hopefully enforcing it. We are sailing 12-19 for our 6th Holiday sailing on the dream, I hope this is true. The other lines have always done a much better job enforcing their rules.
I do wish that on the Dream they would make more family affordable cabins smoke-free. We usually book 2 cabins for the 4 of us, but with the kids unable to use the spa benefits they still don't discount the spa rooms. We only want them because they are smoke-free but not at the expense of an extra $500-$1,000.
FYI Princess also gave soda with Dinner, not sure if the still do.

Regarding the ....well....can't really say what I'd like to , but refering to the guy who keeps returning to cruise with Carnival (Mr. Dangerfield, as he is known in the blog).. His name should be on a "closed door" list. If he ever tries to book a cruise with Carnival again, it might be worth it to pay him to sail another cruise line. What a moron!!

Hi John, Just back from our Carnival Valor cruise (10/25-11/1). I wanted to thank you for your help in getting our table for nine. We had wonderful cruise. Our state room attendant Dean was so nice and very effecient. Our waiters Michael and Alvin were awesome. I loved the singing and dancing in the dining room. It was great fun. It always amazes me that every Carnival employee always has a smile and a pleasant greeting whenever you see them. You know they can't all be having a good day everyday!I want to mention the cigar bar.A few in our group smoke so we often would go there for a drink before and after dinner. It is such a nice lounge but there is never anybody in there. It might be time to change it to something else as it is quite a large lounge. This cruise was so good we booked our next while on board for March on the Victory. I know many complain about the disembarkation process but I have to say this was the easiest I have ever experienced on any ship.We did the self assist and were at the airport by 8:45. John I know you will find this hard to believe but even the custom official was friendly and asked us how did we like our cruise! Thank you John for the great blog and all that you do.

Hello, John!

Please respond!!

I'm wrapping up the last few details before I leave work and ready myself for the flight to New York.

I've been watching the webcam on the Dream and it looks like you brought the crappy weather with you... or was that Todd's fault?? ;)

The forecast for Friday and Saturday is a tad dismal regarding the sea state. Are there any alternate plans for our 2 day cruise to nowhere??

Stitch says hi and sends her love. Please tell your lovely ladies we're thinking about them.

Ciao!!!
