I would say the pan players would be a nice change and consistent with a carribean cruise. Now a cruise elsewhere might be better to have a DJ who can change with the circumstances.

Calypso or Pan is fine but only if there’s a substantial repertoire of songs available. Please — for the love of God — do not make us listen to “Red Red Wine” 20 times a day. It’s just cruel.

Hey John,

I will cast my votes In order, I like the Steel drum sounds so I would say that would be nice, however I also like the idea of a Full time DJ, or maybe a combination of the two. the only problem I have with the DJ or DJ’s on board ship is that they tend to play what they think that people want to hear, no matter what. and should someone make a request unless it is soemthing that he or she normally plays you won’t hear it. the other fear I have about a DJ on deck is that all you will hear is the type of music you only hear in the dance club all day long. this is ok for a little while but I would not want to hear it all day long.

Hi John-

When my husband and I sailed on the Carnival Glory in August, he could not wait to hear steel drums. Alas, he was disappointed that there were none aboard the ship. We enjoyed the Calypso duo, however, found some of the performances to be repetitive. We would love to hear pan players on Lido next time we sail the Caribbean. They would give the cruise the ultimate island vacation feel.
