Hi John!
I hope that the holiday cruise went well for you.
Battleship used to be one of my favorite games, but its nice to see the family getting together to play Scrabble. It is one of my wife's favorite games too.
Love the pictures posted today. I love the side-by-side pics from Nassau.
Thanks for posting and take care!

Hello Mr John

I am not sure if you received my previous comment. If you responded, I missed it. I asked if you could help us (4 of us) to secure a booth at our early dinning on the 'Dream' sailing December 3. My brother/sister in law and my husband/myself traveling together; we live pretty far from each other and enjoy the times we are able to share. We had a wonderful, secluded table when we last sailed together on the 'Glory' and enjoyed it immensely! We looked forward to dinner each evening.....

Hope you might be able to assist us?

Thank you in advance!

I have been on three Carnival cruises and although most of the employees on ship speak broken english I have never not been able to carry on a conversation with them. It's no different than most cities in the US with the high concentration of spanish, japanese etc.

John
We love the fact that the "Whale Tail" Funnel is now the official logo.
We also love the way the crew on every CCL ship speak english. These are wonderful folks from all corners of the globe who not only do a great job but take the time to meet and talk with us. Over the years many have become good friends who we are in touch with today. For my wife and me one of our favorite things is boarding the ship and finding an old friend ready with a smile and a hug.
   Regards

John,
If all one wishes to hear spoken is English, then stay home & let the rest of us book your cabin! I love the variety of cultures & languages the cruise experience gives me. There's a t-shirt I have from Carlos & Charlies that says,"I won't laugh at your Spanish if you don't make fun of my English."
I think that says it all!
How is Kye? I need an update from Heidi!

John, I think Bill Heck has got it about right on the speaking English. All I would add is the perfect cabin steward is one you see on the first day and the last day. Inbetween all I want is when I'm out their in. I even help by hanging the tag on the door letting them know were gone and it's ok to clean NOW.

At dinner all the waitstaff needs to do is see what I'm pointing to on the menu and serve it. Then we can work on their English for the rest of the cruise.

Hi John, We are just back from our Miracle 11/12/09 cruise, wanted to let you know how wonderful the trip was & Josh, the cruise director. This is the first time I made a point of paying attention to the cruise director. He was polite & entertaining, even after he was trying to kill me during a line dance. I told him so and I don't think he thought I was kidding. I was. He gave a wonderful salute to his grandmother at the end of the cruise. He & his staff kept the entertainment going all day & night long. We had a blast. Thanks again, Leslie and the flying monkeys.

Like another poster said.."diversity if a part of the cruising atmosphere"..I couldn't agree more...in all our cruises never did I meet anyone who I could not communicate with or understand. Granted it might take a bit more patience with some than others, but all the crew on Carnival that we have ever interacted with have been fantastic. If I didn't understand something they said they were more than happy to repeat themselves. I've even had some ask me to pronounce a word for them that they didn't understand. I will tell you I am in awe of anyone who can speak more than one language..I for one am not that lucky..a few words in Spanish, a few words in French is all I've ever mastered..hats off to all the Carnival crew members...
