I had the pleasure of cruising with you on 02/27. We had a wonderful time. The ship is beautiful. This was my 6th cruise, and the best ever. We had your time dining. It was great. Not once did we have to wait. The service was better than any we have ever had. Our waiters (we requested them each night) Christian, Damir, and Roferto were wonderful. Not sure if this is possible or not, but is there a way to get them a gift as a thank you. I would love to send them something just to say thanks. If that isnt possible is there anyway for you to pass my email address and comments along to them. They were truly the highlight of my family’s cruise, and helped to make my mother’s (Catherine) birthday special. Thank you so much for all that you do.

First, I would like to say that we had the pleasure of sailing with you in Mar 2007, right when you started this Blog, that was a cruise to be remembered for a long time to come. I persoanlly have been a constant follower of this blog and I find it very helpful and very funny, so please don’t change a thing.

Second, I just booked a Carnival cruise today, Carnival Glory, Sept25, 2010 sailing. I am wondering who would be the CD on that cruise, do you know by any chance? Also, I will be traveling with both mother and father-in-laws, and my dear daughter of 2 years old and my husby. I am hoping that we may sit together in the main dining and I wonder if you would be so kind to pass along my information so that they can arrange it for me? Rm# 6432 and 6422.

Third, being a new mom, I totally understand what you are going through. It is hard not to be able to see your child everyday. But you have to do what you need to do. One thing I learned along the way, is that I won’t try to be the BEST mom, but I will always do my best within my capability for my child.

Ha Ha! First time reading your blog and I am priveledged to read this entry. You are a tell it like it is guy, that is for sure. We will be cruising on The Dream March 13, in just a few short days. Do you like to sing, and would you be willing to get up on stage with me to sing some karaoke? No one in my family will get up there to sing with me, but I’m “daring” you to join me:) What do you think?

This will be our first Carnival experience and we are really looking forward to it. We’ll have a 13 year old son and a 11 year old daughter in tow. Picked the Dream cause we know you’ll keep em busy. They are as excited as we are. We sooooo need a relaxing vacation.

I downloaded the AIDAvita app you mentioned a couple weeks ago. Even though it’s in German, I love it! It’s a blast! I love the 360 views and the deck plans. Do you think the bearded ones at Carnival (and your sister lines) will have an app soon?

“Don’t change a thing” – that’s my vote. But actually, I’m echoing a few earlier comments. I enjoy reading your blog for the humour (spelt correctly) and for the stories, bad and good, and your solutions to the many many strange and wonderful challenges of a cruise director. I don’t enjoy reading the requests for this and that (I want, I want, I want). I understand your concern for these requests, but perhaps you could stop posting them and your responses to them? It may lessen the work you need to do on the blog.

We have just returned from sailing on the Dream. We vote to have the show before our late dinner. It seems we missed so many other things happening while the show was on. ( The deck party started at 11pm and it was 11:45 before the show was over. )
I had read comments of past passengers on the Dream, and it is obvious that many changes have been made to better accomodate the number of passengers. They still need to “tweek” the buffet set-up. Also many of us had out dining room assigments totally messed up. (Our party of 4 couples were all assigned separate tables, even though 3 of the couples were linked together in the computer.)

HI John,

Gotta agree with Carolyn. I do NOT read your blog to see all the people asking for special favors. Actually, I skip all of that (and appreciate the highlighting so I know where to pick up again). You often ask why people take such advantage of cruise personnel – well, maybe you are just a tiny bit enabling – there are limits. When people are rude, unreasonable, and inconsiderate, they need to be ignored (at best) and not coddled with conciliatory fruit baskets. Please don’t misunderstand, I love cruising and Carnival does it best. Think you are amazing, quit second guessing yourself!

We would like to say thank you ! We had a wonderful time on our cruise (Dream 2/27) The only thing that would have made it better would have been you assisting with the renewal of our wedding vows.
