    John,
You are the sort of person that I know can probably help me out in some way.
    I need a little advice.
I am not asking this for myself but on behalf of my wife and myself for our son.
You see he is 24 years old and has been having a lot of problems getting a job that stimulates him. As a result he has let’s say fallen out with most of his family members including my wife and myself.
It is not that we don’t love him it is that his behaviour is not what it should be towards his family.
He falls into the trap of drifting back to some old school friends that to be honest are not the best influence on him.
He has tried to spread his wings on a couple of occasions but the pressure of having to pay for an apartment, utilities and food get the better of him and he drifts back to those friends I mentioned and usually ends up getting kicked out of the apartment and ends up back home with us.
We tried to get him to join the military but he is more of a pacifist.
He really really needs to have some kind of a transition between being looked after by his family and being out on his own.
He went to college and is a qualified massage therapist, he was a star football (the American kind) player and was the leading rusher in Arizona for High School.
    Academically he is quite bright.
So since we cruise a lot (coming up for our 20th cruise) and our son has been on about a dozen and really loves the ships and to travel, the idea crossed my mind about him becoming a massage therapist on a cruise ship. Also he has done physical therapy training too so that could be another angle.
So I went out looking around and found a site called cruiseshipjobs.com.
This is where your advice/guidance comes in……
Do you think this is the best way to go? or is there some other approach he should take? I had heard that some of these so called Cruise Job Shops just try to get money out of people and do not actually have a job at the end of it.

He knows that the crew quarters on the ships are not as spacious as the ones that he stays in as a guest. He also knows that he will have to meld with the rest of the team and be a team player and that the hours are long. But at the end of the day it will give him that independence that he needs and getting away from his friends and family (except when we are on a cruise :-) ).

What do you think? we as a family very much value you opinion.
BTW: Thanks very much for forwarding our request to the steakhouse on the dream to arrange the chef’s table on the Magic.

Since you are on the Magic as CD when we will be on there on May 22nd perhaps we could get together and we can tell you a little more about our son.

    Thanks in anticipation

    Steve
