John may be blogging it up with his bloggers on the Bloggers Cruise, but he doesn’t want you to miss these Fun Times from the Carnival Spirit.
It’s wonderful to welcome our man in London and Cunard’s President Mr. Peter Shanks. Here is a brilliantly told story which I know you will all enjoy.
A very special time down under……………
Each year I venture down to Australia and New Zealand to spend time on our ships as they reach the half way point of their world voyages. It is a long way from my front door, my family and my trusted Labrador (more…)
Hey there John!
Well it’s our first port of call here on the Carnival Splendor! (cheers, whistles, shouts!!!) Welcome back to Mexico, Splendor! As I walked out on the open deck this morning I caught my first glimpse of Puerto Vallarta after such a long time away, the rolling green mountains, the birds flying from the shore over the ocean, and the sunlight gleaming off of the Wal-Mart marquee just outside the pier. I never thought I’d actually be happy to see that Wal-Mart again! Ha! The guests are thrilled to be getting off the ship today. Yes, it is truly amazing to be on board the ship; eating, drinking, playing games, and wallowing around in all the fun, but for a many of our passengers the vacation feeling becomes fully complete when we reach another country’s shore and get to explore an exotic coastline (beyond the Wal-Mart it does get a bit exotic, I promise!).
It’s our second Sea Day on the beautiful Carnival Splendor and the ship has been a bustle of activity since early this morning. Everyone on board is very ready to reach our first port of call, Puerto Vallarta, but as Carnival Entertainment Hosts Amy, Michelle, Christy, and myself are well qualified to turn our guest’s restless energy into fun times to be had by all. We gave the sun worshipers their space on Lido Deck today and made the deck 5 Promenade lounges the main arteries of the ship.
This afternoon we were sitting around the office, stroking our beards while inventing new ways for people to have fun, when one of us happened to glance at the calendar and realized that tomorrow — Saturday January 22nd — is your friend and our friend John Heald’s birthday.
We’re a day early, but we mean it all the same: all of us at Carnival, from those who wear beards to the 345 people named Stephanie… from Fun Ship Freddy to PA 007 (if only we knew who he — or she — was), would like to wish you happy, fun birthday, John! Thank you for all that you do, and may all of your dreams (including, but not limited to, those featuring Megan Fox) come true!
Psst… Hey bloggers, it’s your turn. Please add your birthday wishes for John to the comments section below!
Hello my favorite bloggy compadres, long time no speak! Since John’s blog went through some minor surgery a few weeks ago, I know many of you have been wondering how to subscribe to his blog posts via email.
Well, I’m here to let you know that we have just added a brand new *shiny* form to the top right hand side of the blog thingy where you can do just that. Just make sure that you follow the directions in the verification email that will be sent to you right after you submit it (which basically tells you to click a link to confirm your subscription) or you won’t receive the posts until you do. Hope that helps!
Now….back to my amazing teriyaki tofu lunch…mmmm 🙂
All the best,
Eric the Beard
Hello Blogger friends,
Heidi here from a very grey U.K…..
First of all I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a very happy, healthy and FUN 2011! All festivities have come and gone again and as much fun as it was….I don’t mind getting back to normality, well, as normal as it gets in the Heald household.
I am writing this with Kye on my lap as Dadda has a serious case of Man Flu / Real Flu….
