  • What a lucky Lady to share a day with the King of Cruising. John Heald was the cruise director on the very first cruise my wife and I were ever on. We were married on that cruise and it was the most memorable experience of our lives. A huge part of that memory was John. He is fantastic. We are sailing with him in 09, can’t wait. Congratulations Lauren you did a great job.

I’m still waiting for USA Network’s Character Fantasy to send me my copy. I had a lot of fun with John and everyone who worked on the show. We filmed all day, I can’t believe how much it got edited down. I think there was a lot of good footage left on the floor. We also had a lot of laughs that day.The went to a huge expense to film it flying me and my Guest, my friend Judy DeAbreu in from New York, John flew in from London and to had the entire ship available to us all day. All for 5 minutes! I’m sorry I just wanted to see more because it was so much fun. I want to thank all of the John Heald’s Blogger’s for the kind words.

    Lauren:

So glad you had this opportunity to experience your “Fantasy Career”. I too believe there should have been more “air time”.

  • Can I get a copy of Carnival Capers from July 7 and July 10th, 2008 from my Glory cruise?

  • I just want to say that my wife and I are about to go on your world’s largest fastest cruise ship in the entire world Carnival Splandor December 6, 2008 out of Fort Lauderdale and want to say that Lauren had the best Cruise Director in the entire world train her Mr. John Heald. He was on the Carnival Glory few years back and we had the best time with him even though Glory was average he made it the best time although he had to go to Italy. Now I am hoping to have Mr. John Heald be our Cruise Director because he is the best and want him to put me in the show too. I actually work for Disney but I am so excited about this cruise and I really in love with John. My wife is so excited to and we are ready for the best fun. I cannot wait to go on the cruise. I know he is going to make our cruise special he is the very very best and Lauren will do great from his training.

    Dear John,

Had a great time on Splendor, and thank you for showing the picture I did of you with the Carnvial name on top of the page. I forgot to put my cabin number on which was 2299. You said you would send me a gift, I had hoped you was going to send me the Ship on a Stick of Splendor, but I did not anything, even though I went to the Pursers Office. You made my time on the ship very funny and the shows where brilliant especially Vroom. This trip with my family will be remembered for a long time especially as you got my brother Matthew looking for a mouse in the cabin. It was even more funny when I saw the rerun with you doing the talking on the other end. It was really really funny. Thanks again for being such a great cruise director.

  • John

Just returned from the Splendor. We had an amazing time. You were absolutely brilliant and hysterical in all the shows. I appeared in the passenger talent show. It was an amazing experience for me and a dream come true. The entire staff of the Splendor was great and we especially enjoyed listening to Ken sing each night in the dining room. Thank Heidi for helping make my experience at the talent show so great. During the rehearsal she was very attentive and was able to get me the words and music and make me feel very comfortable. I appreciate all her help.
When I returned, I tried to play the DVD of the talent show and bedtime story I was given on the ship. The video portion plays but there is no audio. Would you please send me another copy? I can’t wait to see it again and show it to my friends and relatives. Thank you again for an amazing twelve days

  • Lauren is such a lucky lady! John Heald is the best. He was the cruise director on my first cruise in ‘04 on the Glory and made it so very memorable. Four years later, I will be taking my 5th cruise (3rd one in 12 months) on Carnival and taking my 6th in July 09. I can only hope that one day I will pick a cruise on a young ship so that I have the pleasure of John being our Cruise Director again!

    Congrats Lauren! You did great!

  • I am looking for an old friend- I see a post from someone with the same name & I assume it was from her- not a common name

  • Hi. We have just returned from the Baltic sea cruise aboard the Carnival Splendor 6th-18 Aug 2008 where John Heald is the cruise director. I have been on many cruises and I have to say that John Heald is best ever. He sooo witty and quick and Carnival are very luck to have a board. His audience participation was side splitting. Any one who was there will never forget “Mary”, an oriental gentleman and a wonderful guy who just couldn’t get his one and only right, At end of the show John thanked all of them for a great show and said they had spoken the language of laughter. This was bery true of course but we thought that john deserved just as much thanx if not more because with his incredible witty and clever input none of this would be very funny. John give yourself a massive pat on the back fella , you deserve it big time.

  • I’ve been on dozens of cruises in my life and I have never been more impressed with the warmth and chorizema of a Cruise Director, as I have been with the very delightfully drawing Shawn Bussey of the Carnival Cruise line Corperation! She’s a warm and wonderful, bright beaming light on board ship and an indescribable credit to the cruise line she represents!

    John,

My hubby and I are band directors in Canton, Ohio (home of Dick) and we love working together with our band kids. We wanted to let you know our VHS of your “bedtime story” from our first cruise on the Sensation in 1994 has become famous among our jazz band students and is requested every year. When we need to lighten the mood, we pop in this video for them and we all laugh until we cry.

You certainly know how to pick your “actors” and while I’m sure you’ve done this skit a million times, it couldn’t have been much better then it was that night. Mary “Bobbited” you when she tackled you, the villain had a huge voice and “with venom” and his own line “give it to me baby” couldn’t have been better, and the hero’s “stop or I’ll shit” made this trio unforgettable.

That evening remains one of the most fun memories of our lives and we love watching it over and over again with our high school band kids. I’m sure Carnival cruises are in their future!

We love cruising with Carnival and can’t believe we’ve been doing it for 14 years. We continue to hope that one day we land on one of your ships again! Thanks for the best memories!

    Beth & John

  • Hey John! We had a blast at the event on Sunday! We can’t find our fun booth video though….. where do we find it?!
