Today, on the Carnival Magic, John experienced one of the proudest moments of his career when he was given the chance to interview three esteemed members of the Carnival family. These men are truly an integral part of Carnival’s heritage, as well as the foundation of our company. I hope you enjoy this brilliant interview, and as always, we WYWH.

If He Builds It…They Will Come

All men are created equal so said some wise man who probably had a beard, wore sandals and meditated while sitting on a spike…………unfortunately he was talking bollocks.

You could give me the same ingredients that our Executive Chef Peter uses and put me in the same kitchen with the same equipment, and even though we have exactly the same number of hands, fingers and thingies ……. I can absolutely guarantee that I’d end up with a plate full of crap that even a hamster that hasn’t eaten in 12 days would turn his little furry nose up at.

A Vice Presidential Blog

As I sit here in my Ryan Air seat heading home for a day and a half to see the girls and collect shoes and diabetic medicine I feel realise once again just how far superior the cruise industry’s level of customer service and passenger hospitality is compared to that of the airline industry. Comparing ours with theirs is like comparing the acting skills and class of Dame Judi Dench and Lindsay Lohan, the beauty of Megan Fox’s bottom to the bottom of a sweaty yak and the magnificent chiseled torso of Johnny Depp to my space hopper stomach and flabby lily white thighs.

Oh joy. It’s Wednesday which means at 2 pm I, as a crew member over 40 have to go to see the ship’s doctor for something called a wellness check. This is a mandatory Carnival procedure and despite the fact that just last month and I had a complete medical at home with Doctor Ramitin, I have to have another one here on board. Yep, I am old and so the doctor has to see me and take my blood pressure and check for diabetes (bit late for that) and check my heart and other stuff to make sure that I am well. I know it will be a simple procedure compared to my medical at home but I am a man …………………..and that means I hate going to see a doctor.

Hi, I’m John, and this is my blog. So please don’t mistake my opinions — or those of my dear friends, fans or commenters — for those of Carnival Cruise Line or Carnival Corporation. My apologies in advance for anything I may say that upsets you, but this disclaimer covers Carnival and puts the blame directly on me………….. bugger.
